Perfect Jack in the Beanstalk for a preschooler
The book arrived in good time. I like the large picture book format, the construction of the story and the illustrations. It is a good introduction of a potentially scary fairy tale to a young child with effective nuances.

might be too baby like. However
The book targets 2-4 year olds. It was colorful and very true to the original! I wouldn't suggest these books for older than 5 or 6, might be too baby like. However, my three year old really liked it. Her favorite part is the hen who lays golden eggs. The book is large and has colorful pages. It's a great read.

Vivid Illustration
My son is almost 3 and loves this book when it's bed time. The book is not very long. Kids will love the bright colors and "Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum". This book is pretty big and then. It is well made. It reminds me of some of my old college text books. It's a big book in size. Bigger than a sheet of regular printing paper.

The book is great quality and the artwork is beautiful
I bought this book for my preschool unit on fairy tales. The book is great quality and the artwork is beautiful. What I had forgotten about this story is that Jack steals gold, the harp, and the hen from the giant. And in the end of this book he and his mom live happily ever after off of what he took (pretty much the message on the last page). I guess that's how the original story goes, but these days it would have been nice to find the story redone somehow so that Jack wasn't stealing. I'll still read it to my preschool class, but afterward I think we'll talk about what choices Jack could have made differently. For that reason, I'm giving it 3 stars. If you're o.k. with the story line, it's a beautiful book.

Rewriting History
It's a nice quality book, with nice illustrations, but they changed the true ending of the story. Jack pays no consequences for stealing the golden egg laying goose. Not going to read this to my son anymore, or maybe I'll improvise the ending, because I don't think it teaches any lessons with this warm and fuzzy ending.

adorable illustrations, he really gets into the story
After reading the Nibbles book, which mentions Jack and the Beanstalk, my son asked me to get him this book. He LOVES it. Bright colors, adorable illustrations, he really gets into the story.

Love!
I love this book- it's a classic and I am so happy to have purchased it! I love the size of this book, the beautiful pictures and hardback cover! This is super kid friendly and doesn't lose any party of the original fairy tale that I remembered as a child.
