Works well. Measurably added space in my luggage. Be careful to order the correct size Pack Gear bag -- small. First time use was for an Arctic cruise and this helped with compressing bulky items, The bag itself was useful after unpacking, as it hung in the small closet. Seems to be very durable and worth it for travelers needing to optimize space.

I bought this along with the pack gear and it works great. We used it for a quick 4 day trip to San Jose to visit relatives. We were able to fit my husband's, my daughters, and my own clothes in a carry on bag using this system. Saved us time getting on and off the plane and we had no issues carrying it all back in the same bag. I appreciated that all I had to do to unpack was to hang up the system in the closet. It made the trip really easy! Great product.

My husband and I went on an 8 month round the world trip in 2022, and these straps plus the pack gear hanging system they go with saved our butts. We only took a 45 L pack each, and these compression straps were absolutely a game changer in how much clothing we were still able to bring. We used them constantly for 8 months, moving every 1-4 days to a new place and thus repacking and reusing the system, and while one of my straps developed a small tear in the nylon at the top (of the fabric, not the strap itself), they overall were incredibly durable. We each used two sets of the compression straps for one set of the hanging pack cube/organizer system to try and get it as small and cuboid as possible, and that worked super well. Would absolutely recommend these for anyone who is going on an extended backpacking trip, especially if you have very limited space like we did. Just for reference: we each had approximately 4-6 shirts, 2 pullovers, 2 pairs of pants, 2 sets of leggings, 2 pairs of shorts, 5 pairs of underwear, 4-5 pairs of socks, 4 sports bras, a bathing suit, gloves, a wool hat, and at various times things like a rash guard or extra shorts (depending on the country we were in). This system allowed us to pack all of that in a 45 L pack along with at least 1 pair of hiking boots, 1 pair tennis shoes or tevas, toiletries, and electronics. Packing cubes alone never would've accomplished the same thing. Of note, if you're going on a long RTW trip bring a bigger bag than we did.
