Unparalleled book for serious magicians
Full disclosure: I’m a student of Quareia. I initially bought this book years ago, read it and gave it away, then bought it again in 2016, in that time, I have read it at least three times, so why review it now? For the past few weeks, I've been nudged to do so and finally took the hint.About the book:This book walks the reader through a series of visions that take place in the Abyss/Desert, -inner realms- which put the Adept in direct contact with different types of consciousness at a deep level. This is not a book of secrets, it will not spell out secrets for you (although what’s in this book is nothing but incredible), instead, the book will show you how to cultivate a contact so that the contact itself can pass that knowledge onto you. The book explains in details how to stay safe and what to expect when you are working in the many layers of the Abyss and also the reasons for working in such a place. The visions are vivid, powerful and rich in details. Fair warning: I found that, when reading these visions, I often went along for the ride only to realize at the end of the vision that I was just reading. I mention this because some of these visions will stay with you for days sometimes even disrupting your sleep if that happens what worked for me was to put the book away in a drawer for a while and go read something that doesn’t involve the creation and destruction of the Universe.Things to consider:This is not a book you want to read right before going to bed unless you want to have active dreams, lots of tasks, do this do that, come back do some more. You’ll be busy working all night in your sleep, it will be a big blur in the morning as you wake up completely exhausted even if you slept 8 hours.Lastly, if you ever struggled to make sense of life, you don’t get people because daily life makes no-sense to you, having read this book will not make things any easier. Mundane things will become even more irrelevant and the feelings of loneliness and of not belonging will only grow deeper with every page you turn. This comment is not intended to discourage people from reading this book, this is just the reality of those who choose to walk the path less traveled.Who should read this book? This book was written for the Adept who’s ready to dive deeper into her magical work but needs some guidance navigating herself through the Abyss and staying safe while doing it.But this book is also for the beginner, that would be the person who picks up a book about magic and can’t tell -yet- what’s real and what has been written entirely from the intellect. There is plenty of misguiding information out there, enough to trap the neophyte all his life while learning nothing but falsehoods, so by reading from someone who has hands-on experience, the apprentice can recognize and disregard the BS in others. In this sense this book works as an anchor, it centers the beginner, so next time someone tells you they talk to angels and hear their voices you’ll roll your eyes and continue walking unbothered, handy skill to have if you ask me.

Do Yourself A Favor
If you are interested in magic, please do yourself a favor and read Josephine McCarthy's books first, all of them. It will probably save you a lot of money on worthless magic books and could save your life. Vision Magic takes you into a world that is almost unexplored by humans, and you definitely need a guide. Josephine McCarthy is that guide showing you the wonders and pitfalls of getting involved in the world of magic. I found it deeply engrossing and absolutely crammed with information I have not seen anywhere else. She is no armchair magician, and all her writings are from her own real experiences. She advises you, in all of her books, that to be a magician, you will have to have your own experiences and gives you huge amounts of advice on how to accomplish that without destroying your body and/or your sanity. You need this overview of the entire panorama of the magical world along with her advice if you plan to practice. Don't try to reinvent the wheel when it comes to magic. It's too dangerous. Learn from a master. Some of the areas discussed in this book are:Who to work with and when: She describes the deities and entities you will encounter and what the requirements are to work with them, their personalities and their hidden agendas. In this, as well as others of her books, she gives you a grand overview of who and what you will encounter in the magical Underworld. She explains how to work with the weather and with volcano fire power. She talks about the power of the sword and explains in detail how to consecrate a sword and scabbard plus other working tools. She explains the Tree of Life in detail. She warns you over and over again that you are going into the heart of the matrix and it is dangerous. Madness and a messiah complex are real possibilities. She says if you go on an ego trip in the Underworld, it could very well be the last trip you take before you go to the asylum and die. She says it is possible to gain a lot of power, but the more power you wield the more in danger you are of losing it and your life. She points out that you can't interfere in balancing situations, but you can interfere in black magic. She talks about working with sigils and sound and about how there is no linear time, that time is happening all at once, so that if you detach from your body you can experience anything that happened or is happening at any time. Also, she explains that the future is not written in stone and how you can help to change it.She tells you the truth about angels, who and what they really are. There are a lot of frauds out there writing magic books, and when you get a chance to read something by a real and highly experienced magician, I strongly recommend that you avail yourself of the opportunity, if you are really interested in magic. If you are just collecting magic books, it doesn't matter, but if you plan to actually do anything with it, read her books.

I have purchased all three of this author's books through the recommendation of a good friend of mine
I haven't begun reading this book yet; I have purchased all three of this author's books through the recommendation of a good friend of mine. I'm still reading the author's Magical Knowledge I book but I will say that book is excellent. It is well-written and informative.

Great
Love these books. I have all 3 and they teach a lot. I highly recommend them. I could recommend several books outside this author but I'm kinda lazy so I'll do a few. Modern Magick third edition. Huge book but its extremely good. Um, Everything you wanted to know about Magick is good. I'm looking at my library trying to pick from like 80 books. Hmmm. That's all for now. There are plenty others but the two outside ones and the 3 in the Magical Knowledge trio are my top right now in my life. I'm trying to stick to similar for this review. There's enochian, Egyptian, shaman, ascension, Arabic, voodoo, and a few others I study but I don't think they are to be in the same category. Maybe the Enochian huh. Well Enochian Vision Magick. All great in this type of Magick of working with angels, demons, spirits, ceremonial, etc. yeah all 5 stars. Obviously I'm being lazy because I don't feel like reviewing all these books.

Knowledgable and sensible.
Really excellent, a master work. A touch of humour too which helps in its exposition as the subject matter is very complex and esoteric.

No nonsense self help guide for occultists
A well written book, as are all the others by this author in the series. Easy to get into and really written from the heart, the subject is huge and is tackled with a great no nonsense style. It cuts through all the tripe that has been written time and again about the "Other side" It is aimed at "seekers of the truth" and is something that the world of esotorica has needed for a long time. It is most helpful to seekers travelling this road alone and should be considered a modern masterpeice. I admit it, I'm impressed. A satisfying read. Highly recommended

Great advanced learning
This final book of Ms. McCarthy's trilogy is another pearl. With her usual down to earth approach, she takes the practitioner through a series of enriching and challenging experiences that will transform her/him.Another most valuable point in this book is the definition of Initiate: a magician who has worked her/his way through the process of learning with hard work, self sacrifice and dedication. Plain and simple. And, above all, honest. In brief, with Ms.McCarthy you can't go wrong.Highly suggested.
