Spectre Performance 9705 4" Polished Aluminum MAFS Adapter Tube

I used this for a Pontiac G8 when I upgraded to a roto-fab cold air intake and LS7 MAF. I did not have to use the plastic inserts. My only comment is that it would be nice if there was an option to have this in a black finish. Several people have applied a black wrinkle-coat paint job which looks outstanding on this adapter, making its finish match the finish of other intake components. The shiny finish would be nice if I was using stainless intake tubing but it looks out of place as the only shiny part in my entire engine compartment.Still, it seems to be very well made and functions exactly as intended.

I installed a 105mm throttle body and had to make a new intake but I don’t have an ac welder to weld a maf bung so I bought this and It fit perfectly on my Silverado and am able to use the better ls7 maf and It shipped quickly to my house just in time for me to tune my truck

The tube itself is fine - 4" outer diameter, 3.75" inner diameter. The problem is in the LS7 style maf adapter. This piece will warp over time. Even if you can get it to seal to the metal mounting spot, the maf sensor itself will leak on the other side. A terrible design. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS!

Great price and product looks great. I gave it 4 stars because it came with NO instructions to say what the black plastic sleeves were for. If I would have known they were to increase velocity across the sensor to reduce tip in stumble, etc it would have been great and I would have tried it and not had to tune around some tip in. I just met a Spectre rep at a car meet and he told me there, but now these adapters have been tossed. My use of product is a 87 Buick GN with a larger 60 series PTE S cover turbo and I have a aftermarket management system and I was using a LS1 3.5 " MAF and had the adapter hoses, etc and never liked they way it looked. This cleaned that up and works great. Welds on adpater look perfect and its highly polished and has all the mounting hardware. Even comes in a pull string Crown Royal type bag which my Kindle Fire fits in perfectly as a re purpose carry case.

I see a lot of people asking if it will fit and the short answer is most likely. I put mine on my 3rd gen Cummins. If you have a 4” intake it’s easy. If you have a 3” intake this manufacturer sells the step down adapter. As far as the MAF sensor goes, you will likely have to do what I did. I cut a square to match the mounting bracket out of 1/8 inch aluminum and drilled the holes so I could screw it into the housing. Then I used a step bit to drill the center hole for the MAF sensor and drilled and tapped a hole for the sensor screw. These are all wasters of what you’ll likely have to do.

Same as others on here. Plastic mount warped to the point of leaking air. I heated it and flattened it back out and warped again. Going to try drilling and tapping through it that doesn't work it's worth $.12/lb

Used in my LS3 swap. I did not use the plastic insert. MAF fit with not issues, with all hardware needed supplied. It is 4”, so it flows perfectly with my spectre intake that I pieced together.EDIT: I ended up using the 89MM insert, and that helped with dialing my tune in at idle.
