MT10A uses 1xAA batteries as power supply, which means that it comes in a very tiny size and you have no need of carrying bulky charging devices or backup batteries as you can obtain this type of batteries very easily on the go. MT10C, one of the most compact and powerful EDC model Nitecore has ever made, can create 920-lumen beam with an effective range in excess of 190 meters when using one IMR 18350 rechargeable Li-ion battery. Both MT10C and MT10A feature tactical tailcap switch, which has significant ergonomic advantages. Applying thumb pressure in a natural gripping action turns the light on; releasing thumb pressure turns the light off: crucial in combat or law enforcement. With the light turned on, pressing the side-switch brings you different outputs and special modes like Red-light illumination. You'll find that Nitecore New MT series meet your needs and exceed your expectations. Powerful, adaptable, and compact. Great Light. Meets Nitecore's stated specs
Good hotspot on the light, with a nice surrounding flood. Good spread on different light levels. Uses every current type of AA battery on the market. Included 14500 battery seems to last in line with Nitecore's stated times (think it's 45 min on Turbo).Charger works well. Charged included battery from about 50% to 100% in around 20 minutes. Digital readout gives actual % of charge. Charger does not come with a wall or car plug. Included plug is USB only. I was able to use it without issue through a USB port on my desktop PC. Since you can buy USB adapters for car plugs at gas stations, and USB cables with wall adapaters (made for cell phones) at many cell phone stores, it shouldn't be an issue. The pen worked. If you have another charger, you can maybe use the plastic end knock batteries loose from your charger. The only non positives are the holster belt loop is velcro. It was fine on a regular casual wear leather belt, but 2in belts might make you need to sew the velcro so it doesn't come undone while moving around. If you can do that, you should have no issues with the holster. The charger only charges Li-ion batteries, so no Eneloops in the charger.

Be aware of my experience if you're buying this as a gift.
Order arrived quickly. First appearance: the end tab of the yellow carboard box\container had been torn off. The instruction sheet had a dark dirty stain on it, about 3\4" , which obscured some words. Makes me wonder if this was a return...No big deal to me because it is for me.Good thing this was not purchased to be a gift for someone. Also, I removed the pocket clip to reverse its direction. It snapped in half when being reinstalled. Very brittle steel. Again, no big deal to me because I won't be carrying it in my pocket. But it would have nice if it didn't break.Light and charger work great otherwise so far.UPDATE 3 days later: I contacted the seller and they are immediately shipping out a new clip to replace the broken one. So I added a star. Great CS.

This little pocket light is a beast!
I give it five stars even though the clip is a bit funky. With a good clip it would get six!The output is neutral white in color and the flashlight, though small, does not overheat easily even on turbo (which lasts 3 minutes before stepping down).Battery usage is slow (good run time) and the included charger is terrific. It's fast, includes a digital readout, and the charger/battery combo can even be used to charge cell phones and tablets. The red light is bright enough for night use without affecting vision (or causing one to wake up too much). The controls work really well. The buttons have a soft but firm touch and feel durable. The mode when the light turns on is both predictable and selectable! The U/I was really well thought out.The only other slight negative is that although the light tail-stands, it is slightly wobbly and has to be positioned a bit carefully when set down this way. There are plenty of levels, not too many but really enough - just right. And the top two levels are amazing. Great throw, side spill and overall illumination. This little pocket light is a beast!

Great emergency and EDC flashlight super bright
I have purchased 2 of these for emergency bags and they are very bright with the rechargeable battery. In emergency you can also use double AA batteries. When using double AA batteries you don’t get as much light output but it is plenty for an emergency. It’s like the different between spot light with rechargeable to regular flash light with double AA. The tail cap push button is easy to use and the level buttons on the front make it easy to switch modes quickly.
