Highly recommended alternative design book!

Love it, beautiful posters!!! Crazy design!!!

I'm rating this on condition only, while i do want to read this in the worst way imaginable, i'm sorry Amazon, i just haven't had the time, with trying to graduate and all, but since you insist on asking me what i think of it, here is my run down.Pros-Definitely a bookDoesn't seem to have a political affiliation (it's a book)Not made of human flesh (it's a book)Doesn't nag me to get a job like my exDoesn't appear to be the necronomiconCons-Some of the design seems datedDoesn't include free wifi (it's a book)Doesn't fill the void of my parents divorceDoesn't appear to be the necronomicon

Completely creative, cutting edge, and visually stimulating. David Carson's look at typography is a real eye opener to new and extreme avenues that this design element can bring. It's a fabulous resource, full of wonderful photography and great ideas. It's a great tool for designers and students alike. Very helpful and well worth the money.

This book inspired me to try new techniques with typography and is a must for any modern designer! The book contains a lot of David Carson's early work as well as some really great ads for Ray Gun Magazine. I definately recommend picking this one up just to view such innovative work!

I am a graphic design student from Chile, when I have this book on my hands, my design change radical, this is the bible of modern graphic design, is full of innovation,this is the book that you need to be a graphic designer, buy it!

I regret that the received(successful) book is a republication 2012. My command(order) posted(showed) the first edition(publishing) 2000. Disappointed.

I cant tell you how many times I return to this book for idea generation. "Dirty" design at its best. This book is better than the sequel but both are worth the investment.

Este libro escrito por David Carson es una joya ( or los quien le gusta su trabajo): puedes imaginar la resaca de las olas a traves sus textos y sus diseños son todavía muy actuales... Muy recomendable!

David Carson est un typographe qui a renouvelé le graphisme contemporain par ses créations innovantes.

Se siete capitati su questo libro compratelo. Solo per l'impaginazione e lo stile grafico io lo ricomprerei, chiaramente deve piacere il genere, ma forse io non faccio testo adoro lo stile di Carson!Certo ci fosse più materiale non sarebbe male...... comunque se siete grafici è un testo da avere!

I bought this book for a project - well worth the money, I have used this book many times over. It is well illustrated with many examples of Carson's style.
