HYS 27Mhz 13-Inch BNC-Male Antenna for CB Handheld/Portable Radio with BNC Connector Compatible with Cobra Midland Uniden Anytone CB Radio

I've got a couple of older Maxon and Midland handhelds that I keep at work for "just in case" use. The range wasn't the greatest and the rubber was starting to come apart around the coils on the original antennas. I thought I'd get this antenna to both keep the old radios in service and increase the range at the same time.This installed without any issues with the BNC style connector. Transmissions and receptions are now clearer and the range is probably 15 to 20% better. The quality is good and I'd recommend the product.

I swept this with an analyzer. At CB frequencies, the SWR came up around 2.75, which is not great, but it's better than the original that came with the radio & much better than an extendable antenna that should have performed well but didn't. So far, this is the best performing handheld CB antenna that I have tested. It's an improvement, but it's not great.

I originally purchased (3) of these antennas for QYT CB-58 handheld CB radios. The stock antenna which came with the radio had a poor match, plus the radios was very poor performance. I purchased a President Randy II, and got an adapter from TNC to BNC and used the antenna on the new handhelds. There was an improvement in both receive and transmit.Small antennas on 27 MHz are a problem as you can't change the physics of 1/4 radiators. They just don't radiate will because they are short. But the HYS antenna showed a 2 S-unit increase over the the stock President radio antenna at 3/4 miles, and the match is better on the radio.I would recommend this antenna to someone who may need an edge on CB handheld communications. It's a performer!

I'm actually pretty impressed with the performance on this little antenna, I purchased two for an emergency radio kit. Using the same radios, through very dense forest and hills, I was able to get a radio check at about 5 miles, I'm sure it would work better with a clearer line of sight but I'm impressed so far. My test equipment is showing a full transfer of power.

I use my Midland portable CB on my Motorcycle. By replacing the factory antenna My reception range has increased. It is easy to install, and seems to be durable.

It works, but not as good as the factory antenna that came with my CB handheld. There is a noticeable increase in noise over the factory antenna. However, if you need a replacement it does function.

I replaced the factory rubber/plastic duck antenna of my 75-822 and picked up a few more signals thanks to a YouTube channel that live steams Frida nights in San Francisco area. I've given CB a place in my heart for over 30 years, and I give up. There's nothing out there on the air but drunk jerks that feel smart, and are way behind the curve. I havn't received a reply on a CB since my Radio Shack 40CH portable in Butte Co., in the early 90's and once again while visiting San Francisco as a kid and a man wanted to know where I was (because everything is a watering hole in the Bay). Having been a ham operator for almost a decade now, I'll never look back again. New CB's and base stations creep me out and create the feeling of looking at a Harley, a Chevy 350 or Freightliner Classic as a good choice. It's ego driven, and I recommend an amateur radio license, a Talkabout or ANY other radio technology.

Fit my old Radio Shack hand held radio and has better reception than the original.

Liked the quality and feel of this antenna . A bit longer and thinner than the aerial that came with the radio . As far as any improvement goes , to be honest I noticed very little difference . There might have been a slight improvement on reception but very little else . The 21" version of this aerial which looks the same only longer does give an improvement on range and reception . I think it`s also made by HYT but I think it`s a copy of the Albrecht aerial , which gets good reviews on You Tube .

Sehr gute CB-Funkantenne in sehr guter Verarbeitungsqualität. Bestens für 80 Kanäle geeignet, da augewogenes SWR-Verhältnis. Daher von Kanal 01 bis Kanal 80 sehr gute Ergebnisse.
