Black edges on diffusers drive me mad as they always show, but that aside this is a very well made pop-up. The spring steel edge on these is insanely over engineered so on the plus side it pops up like a mad thing and produces a ripple free tight screen, which is great. Best I've used. If you're used to the double twist shut down technique on these units - or rather the Lastolite/Wex/Calumet ones - then this one may prove a bit more challenging. Get someone to hold one of the narrow ends solidly, horizontally, mid-air and not move. You do the first and second twist starting from the other end, but then push *really hard* towards your assistant who is taking the strain. All being well it should collapse; your assistant should not. Don't assume it will just conform back into its pouch like the more lightly engineered ones or else you will be left holding a big tangled mess looking like an idiot. I have the T-shirt.The final contortion of these big pop-ups never looks promising but have confidence that it will work and practice it before you have to do this fast in front of a paying client!

Before you buy don’t underestimate the size it says it’s 6 ft 5 inches tall & it is! Which is great for me because it’s what I needed

Used this for the first time and the diffuser has a very strong colour cast to it - mainly magenta but with blue as well making it hard to correct with gels. The metal frame was warped from the first use. I've had the same issue with large diffusers before, mainly Lastolite Panelite, but this happened over a long period of time and use. While it does fold down to a small size making it easy to carry around the fact that it won't stand up straight due to the warping and has such a bad colour cast makes it pretty much unusable.
