Solid product
As a loyal user of Ubiquiti UniFi products, I can confidently say that the UniFi USW-Flex Mini 5-Port Gigabit Switch lives up to the brand's reputation for reliability and performance. This compact, fanless switch offers five Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing fast and stable connections for your devices. Its small form factor allows for easy placement in various environments, whether it's on a desk, mounted on a wall, or tucked away in a cabinet. One of the standout features is its flexible power options. The switch can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or through the included 5V USB-C adapter, offering versatility depending on your existing setup. This flexibility ensures that the switch can be integrated seamlessly into your network without the need for additional power outlets. Managing the switch is straightforward through the UniFi Network Controller, allowing for easy configuration and monitoring of your network. The intuitive interface provides insights into network performance, connected devices, and traffic statistics, enabling you to maintain optimal network health. In summary, the UniFi USW-Flex Mini 5-Port Gigabit Switch is a solid and reliable addition to any network setup. Its compact design, flexible power options, and seamless integration with the UniFi ecosystem make it a valuable tool for both home and business networks. Compact, silent, and fully managed — ideal for UniFi setups
The USW-Flex-Mini is an excellent little switch for expanding a UniFi network. Despite its small size, it offers full Layer 2 managed functionality via the UniFi Controller, making it perfect for home labs, smart home gear, or extending wired connectivity in tight spaces. Setup is simple — just adopt it like any other UniFi device. Once added, you get full control over VLANs, port profiles, and monitoring. It runs completely silent (fanless), and the metal chassis feels solid and well-built. Power can be supplied via USB-C or 802.3af PoE — I use PoE from another UniFi switch to avoid extra cabling. Throughput is consistent and reliable, even under load. If you're already in the UniFi ecosystem and want a clean, reliable switch with full controller integration, the USW-Flex-Mini is a no-brainer.

As an 'endpoint' device, it's as good as it gets!
Built to Ubiquiti's high standards and well-presented in it's (still-sealed) box, this device is minute. I thought that the Netgear device it was replacing was small, but this is even smaller! Unlike the Netgear, this does not have mounting slots on its base for screws, so cannot be fixed to the rear of a desk or cabinet - that said, it's small enough to allow the use of double-sided tape, provided the surface being fixed to was flat and dust-free. There have been comments made by some reviewers that it lacks POE passthrough - this would not be possible, as loading all four of its ports to the maximum power would overload the power capabilities of not only the units Port 1, but also the upstream device, as well as result in significant volt drops down the network cable. Some might think that the solution to this would be to use the external power supply; this will not work either, as the external power feed is 5Vdc - but the POE voltage is circa 50Vdc, thus removing the capability to use USB and requiring a far larger mains power supply. When supplied, I attached it to my existing network and it immediately showed in the device list, with a status of 'Pending Adoption'. I selected Adopt, it was then added to the existing install, checked for a firmware update (there was) and installed same, restarting once complete - all in all, utterly painless. First impressions - an excellent device, superb value for money. From a functional perspective, it does very well what it's supposed to do, with LED's on the individual ports for status, which are mirrored on the cloud management system.

Genuine!
Got this to extend my UDM Pro's reach with a couple additional devices farther away, and I have to say it does not get simpler than this. I got a couple sockets with 5V regular usb ports and plugged in works just fine! The cable it came with originally is a 2 pin shaver socket cable, so not the 3 pin one unfortunately, but this at least keeps down the plugs in my socket! Just grabbed a regular old type-c to usb cable plugged it in, turned on the port on my UDM pro, and it instantly showed up for adoption. After adopting it did a firmware update (took like 1min or so), and it had its own ip assigned from my dhcp server without a single setting needing to be changed. Of course you would want this switch to have a fixed up so just set that up outside of your DHCP range and you are good to go! Port control also works flawlessly, I am using tagged VLANs for IoT Devices and my main network, and both work flawlessly. It does allow having 2 vlans on the same port even though it says "limited functionality" in the settings page. Its compact, smaller than expected, but you cannot fault it how easy it is to set up and put it in a corner with fairly good airflow. I will just keep the original power cable in case I ever decide to get an adapter and use that, but until then the type-c wall plug works wonderfully. Ports can be individually disabled / enabled and statistics show in the controller hub just fine!

Works great. Last one got taken out by lightning. Easy to install and incorporate to our system. Basically plug and play if you run Ubiquity. No issues with speed or heat build up.
