Do not know what smudging is but yhry are thin small feathers no ostrich would brag about. They fit my needs though so i was happy with the purchase

Q: are the dark green a kelly green or olive green or?

Hi I didn't buy the green. I bought the gold. But if you get these definitely get the longer ones. Get more than one pack because some of them are good and you could get some that are not so good.
