FZONEMini DC Solenoid Cable Mini Series Regulator(FZ1011 and FZ0109)

I've been doing high-tech planted tanks for nearly a decade years now. When I bought this unit, I did a lot of research to find the best balance of price, quality, and size. Now that I have the FZone, I couldn't be happier, it is exactly what I was hoping for.Overall satisfaction with product: HighImpression of build quality: HighProduct feels very solid. There is no plastic on it. I expect it will last for years to come.Impression of Needle Valve: HighI’ve used a lot of needle valves over the years, and this one is the best I’ve used. It has fine grain control over the bubble count; and once set it does not seem to drift. I appreciated the inscription showing which direction to turn; as this is a frustrating guessing game on other regulators.Impression of Regulator: HighAdjustment of the regulator is straightforward. Once set; it does not seem to gain or lose output pressure. The regulator is proportionally the right size compared to the CO2 bottle. It looks clean and professional.Impression of Bubble Counter: HighIt looks clean, professional, and exactly like what you want on your showcase tank. Reading the bubbles is straightforward and consistent.Impression of Pressure Gauge: HighThe gauge is clear and just the right size; any larger and it will look non-proportional, any smaller and it’ll be hard to read.Impression of Relay: HighSimple, discrete, out of the way, and seems to do the job well. I appreciated the quick-disconnect near the relay; as my electrical strip/outlet is not easy to access.Impression of unboxing/accessories: HighThe packaging is what I would expect from a high-quality product. It includes a bottle wrench; which I was happy to have when I needed it. I was also pleased to see an extra set of o-rings was included; no manufacturer thinks to do this anymore.Impression of instructions: HighInstructions were clear and I had no issues during installation. My only recommendation is to add some text stating that the ‘extra’ o-rings were not to be used initially.Impression of Customer Support : Very HighI reached out to Fzone with a minor issue with my paintball adapter. They responded very quickly and were very personable. Even though the adaptor was working they still sent me a replacement shipped free of charge; zero-hassle. I was very impressed. Just try to get that kind of customer service or product quality commitment from the big guys!Overall, it’s hard to not see that FZone wants to be the best in the industry. If they continue producing products like this Triple and supporting their customers like they did for me today; I believe they will achieve it quickly.

Please read on for detailed review.ReviewI have stayed away from mini regulators and single stage regulators ever since I started this hobby. However I came across FZone mini regulator which claimed to be multistage. A few hobbyist have been using FZone single stage regulator and have been satisfied, but I avoid single stage regulators. On inspection the mini regulator design I was intrigued. They have updated the design to get rid of flaws and managed to add 3 stages into the compact design. I have seen some high end compact regulator use this idea but first time I have seen it in a affordable regulator.I ended up getting one on whim because I keep backup regulators for emergency. The shipping was quick and it was in service for my 10g tank using the paintball adaptor that came with the package. I didn’t include a o-ring that goes between the paintball and adaptor, but I had spare so not a big deal.Everything worked as expected out the door after following instructions. I used a atomic diffuser for this, so I needed atleast 40psi of output which it managed fine and delivered constantly. No leaks.The needle valve took a bit of careful slight adjustments to get my desired bubble rate. Its not a fine adjustment needle valve that I have on my expensive regulators but for this price and it’s desired use it’s good enough. As such you just need to adjust it when you set it up, after that you should never need to readjust it unless your needs change.The solenoid is my favorite. I like these small solenoids usually used in pneumatic setups. You need to fabricate the body to accommodate so kudos to the designers to make it happen. Its perfect for such small applications, doesn’t get hot and works flawlessly.Other things, the regulator came in black which matches my paintball tank, the bubble counter is a good addition and usually a good thing when you start your setup. The pressure gauge is easy to read. It came with additional o-rings used in the body and a wrench to tighten the nut to cylinder.Overall this would be my recommended regulator for anyone taking the plunge into using CO2 and don’t have big budget. I never recommend cheap single stage regulators, but this one with 3 stage design is hard to ignore and definitely recommended. If this works thru 3-4 cycles without any failure I don’t see the need for bulky regulators anymore. I will comeback and report if anything goes wrong as I continue its use.

It's my first CO2 regulator, so I was a bit skeptical about the purchase. I did a ton of research and eventually decided on this particular model. It's highly versatile - works with the "regular" CO2 cylinders (those with CGA320 fitting), paintball cylinders and disposable cylinders.I hooked it up to a 15 lbs CO2 cylinder with CGA320 fitting, rotated the fitting that connects to the bubble counter so it's vertical (took me a second to figure this out as it was not in the documentation), and hooked it up to the hose/diffuser - the entire process was easy and completed in mere minutes. It also came with the wrench to tighten the connection to the cylinder - that's a bonus.I connected the solenoid to a smart switch so it comes on and shuts off automatically. It's only been a couple of days, but it's been working nicely. The input and output pressure remained steady, and the product does seem to be built in a sturdy manner.The only thing missing is a gauge that shows the pre-regulated cylinder pressure (i.e. how much CO2 is left in the tank), but that's the only trade-off for a mini regulator. For the versatility, price and feature, I am quite happy with the purchase so far.

Works great! I've been using it since it arrived last month and it was an easy set up, and I have no problems with it since setting it up. The price was great but after getting the product I can see that it's pretty well made too. Definitely recommended!- - -Some minor issues occurred due to wear and tear after a while and I contacted the seller. They sent me plenty of replacement gaskets, and a step-by-step on how to tweak it when it sort of stopped working and I got it fixed with their help. Everything gets worn down eventually but their customer service is top notch making this product amazing because of the people behind it! Thanks!!

Recently decided to add CO2 to my system. I wanted a regulate that wasn’t too bulky, that would hopefully fit a sodastream co2 bottle. I cane across this one by FZone.This small ref absolutely packs a punch! It’s largely got everything that the bigger refs have. With that being said, I would have loved to have a gauge on the reg that told you how much psi was left in your bottle. It only has the working pressure displayed.Upon delivery, I was contacted by fzone. They asked if there were any issues and if there were to contact them. They reminded me of warrantee etc as well. The company is extremely responsive and accessible. Via Facebook, email, Instagram.I am thoroughly enjoying the product and the service and communication makes it that much greater. I have ordered their lily pipe as well and looking forward to getting and installing that too!

Has been in service for many months, has not missed a beat. Running standard paintball tank for aquarium co2 injection. Running on digital timer, never leaks down during the night when solenoid is powered off, zero leaks, great adjustment. Highly recommend.

Went to switch my CO2 tank for the first time since hooking this system up. Now the seal is leaking and wont work, I've switched the o rings and have done nothing different from the first set up and yet its still leaking.Not impressed as I cant return, cut off window was 4 months, this broke at 5 months. Will not be buying this brand again.
