Great for my 2 and 4 year old! Simple and sweet
Book is perfect for my 2 and 4 year old. The quick wording and rhymes kept them engaged and the illustrations fit right along for a relatable read on enjoying “worm weather”. I felt it captured kids enjoying life’s moments, even in the rain in simple moments.

Not Great, but OK
Disappointed. Was an Okay Book- Did not keep my Grandson's interest while I was reading. Only a few words on each page with not much progression into a story dealing with worms coming out of soil as it rains.

Adorable
My 2 year old and 3 year old love this book and it’s fun story. It has cute illustrations and silly rhythms that keep them engaged. We read this for the first time after exploring/observing worms in our yard after an early spring rainstorm cleared up.

Great Rhyming!
As a reading teacher, I can tell you that rhyming is incredibly important for reading development. Because nursery rhymes are going to the wayside (which they shouldn’t!!) it’s more important than ever to find engaging books with rhymes. This book does just that and more. While the plot isn’t really the main focus of this book, rhyming and other literary elements are and that’s perfect for the recommended age group. There’s even onomatopoeia that’s helpful for the classroom setting! The illustrations are rich and engaging. I used this for a literacy class for preschoolers and it was not only a hit with the kids and parents, but also in my mind as a teaching tool.

Great book all around. The art is lovely and very textural. Has a chalk/pastel feel to it and I almost wonder if that was intentional to keep the art looking “dry”, as watercolour in this story may leave the reader with a damp/cold feeling. I enjoy the toned-down but not depressing colour palette, showing the beauty of a rainy day. The story starts out close to the children, but as the day progresses, aI notice the view widens to show more of the world around them. The story is set in the city, but shows outdoor nature, like parks. I am so glad both world’s were shown , as a city person, I find the beauty of the city and it’s accessibility are not showcased enough in children’s books. This is a quick read, a lyrical/poetic story about a brother and sister going out to play in the rain in all it’s glory. I enjoy the word play if “worm weather” over “warm weather”. Even though there are only a few words or sentences per page, there are many pages to this book, so it’s a very satisfying read. As someone who grew up on the west coast, the rain is very endearing for me and as a child playing in the rain is just a fact of life vs. a reason to hide indoors, so a book that shows how awesome our climate is is a win for me.

Love this book. Cute as all get out and wonderful for spring and talking about “worm weather” as they pop out in the rainy weather. My daughter adores it and asks me to read it almost daily.
