Are the piece of fabric meshed together? or are they separate and jus stitched around the border? If that makes sense...

I bought the blanket and returned it because it’s two materials sewn together but you can pull them apart - think of a giant pillowcase with no opening ! It’s not sewn tightly as just one piece ! That’s why I sent mine back !

Is the black and white blanket actually white, or is it off white?

I am not sure as I ordered the red and black one. I do have to say the brown plaid has a white background so I would assume the black and white is white. I will say they are the best blankets I’ve ever had and large. I ended up with 5 of them.

Does it "ball up or pill up" and several washes/uses?

I don't know because I haven't washed mine yet, but my sister said she washed her's (once so far) and it washed up beautifully! I'm not sure how it will do after several washings, but Hopefully it will do great. It hasn't balled or pilled up after several uses. It is an Awesome blanket and I Highly recommend it! In my opinion, I'm Positive that you will be Highly Satisfied with purchasing it & it will be one of your biggest, warmest, softest, thickest, nicest looking throw blankets.
