I wanted to write a quick review to address some of the other reviewer images. I saw a lot of reviews complaining that the acrylic is not clear, but instead foggy with scratches and fingerprints and looks like cheap plastic. I had a suspicion, so I decided to try the products anyway. I am including a photo that shows you there is a film on both sides of the acrylic. It’s not obvious. You have to scrape at a corner for a few seconds to reveal it and pull it back. It’s not the brown paper as in the product photos. The film protects the acrylic, and once I peeled it off, it had no scratches at all. Mine came unbroken, in a plastic covering, inside a plastic bag, inside a bubble wrap mailer.

I was supper excited to receive this product. There is a horrid smell upon opening. I did have to sit them in a Dawn hot bowl “bath”. That lasted about a day. The smell was still there after the soaking so I washed them off and placed them in the Dawn bath again. Another wash down and dried it down and the smell is nonexistent. Perfect for getting those cake rounds clear and smooth. Def a good buy. The smell is weird.

This was my first time making a decorated birthday cake. I was very impressed with how easy to use this smoother was. So glad I purchased and that i have to use for the future!

Has a cloudy film that needs to be removed. It is almost impossible to tell. Scrape the corner and it'll come off

These are great for someone who may only use them a couple times. However, they smell HEAVILY of the acrylic even after being scrubbed which is a big turn off for me. They are sturdy enough as I said before for someone who may not use them regularly, but for everyday use as a decorator you would probably prefer more stability.

Great product and fantastic sturdiness. Clean easily, I just popped mine in the dishwasher and it was good to go. I like that it's clear, it allows me to see the buttercream as I'm working it.
