This is the second one I purchased because it makes digging so much easier. The first one lasted at least 2 years till I tried pulling out a deep large rock ... after close inspection I hammered down the little metal piece keeping the "blade" on and voila! it's back to functioning well and has the same strength for my stony clay soil. So now I have 2. Love them! Be mindful that if you forget it outside it will start to rust so clean it with oil to keep that from happening.

Great tool for cleaning out roots and bed cleaning.

Our ground is very hard and filled with rocks and has always been very difficult to dig. But we decided to give this tool a shot and it works great! The sharp tip cuts into the hard soil and gets under rocks so you can pry them out and then it drags all the dirt out of the hole. Now I understand why the adze was one of the first tools humans ever invented -- cause it works!

The item has a poor-quality handle that is poorly finished and may injure the user's hand due to splintered wood on the handle. The attachment of the hoe head uses a couple of small, ill-selected, screws and a metal wedge at the top that is not fully installed into the top of the handle. The picture on the Amazon site shows something at the top of the handle by the hoe head that looks like some aid in the use of digging or tool use, but it is unclear what that small metal protrusion is until the tool arrived to see a poorly installed metal wedge.Overall, the tool looks like it is unfit for the type of work shown in the website picture.

Well, it’s cute. It’s cheap. It might be useful in a window box or a sandbox, but it’s too tiny and too light - and too short - to be of any real use. But it is too cheap to even bother returning it.
