I had just about given up on removing the mower blade bolt on my John Deere tractor. After lots of PB Blaster, WD-40, various attempts with sockets, wrenches, even a pipe wrench, nothing worked. The bolt had become quite rounded over the years. I was getting ready to cut off the head of the old bolt and hopefully be able to remove the remaining stem. This bolt extractor set from PlantinumEdge worked wonders. I hammered down the 14mm socket onto the bolt, attached a breaker bar, and in a couple minutes of working through the best leverage angle, it broke loose. Highly recommend having this on your tool shelf for those pesky bolts.

These work great. Went to do an oil change and found the plug tight, and as I tried to get it off, the wrench kept slipping until there was little space left on the edges to grip. Still couldn't get it out. Looked up options online, where I saw a video of a mechanic using this product on a really stripped and plug. Within seconds, the plug was out, and replaced with a new one. After that video, I tried the recommended product, which this is. What do you know, but my results were just the same. As soon as the extractor was securely on, it was only seconds to plug removal. This set includes most major SAE and metric sizes, and it just works. One use, and I am a fan.

I purchased this bolt socket extractor set to remove an oil drain plug for my 2007 Honda Fit Sport that I felt the Midas franchise OVER torqued!As I was trying to change my my oil, I ended up stripping the size 14mm oil drain plug and was stuck with not knowing how to get this off. After watching just one Youtube video where a guy ironically with the same issue on the same model year car, he recommended the "PlatinumEdge" extractor tool to remove the bolt. So after ordering it on Amazon and receiving the shipment, I went on to try and remove the bolt. I followed the directions from the video and with a little muscle, i was able to tap it onto the head of the bolt to lock in place and proceeded to remove the bolt with a 3/8in socket wrench. Once I "cracked" the bolt, I was able to hand spin the bolt off from that point. Only problem was the socket was still locked onto the bolt. I used a vice grip to hold the socket in place to then use a screw driver narrow enough to tap the bolt out of the socket.If you are a DIY'er, this is a great set to have.**This set does not come with any socket wrench. You have to use your own 3/8 wrench which will fit on these sockets.
