Triton TWSS10 Slow Speed Wetstone Sharpener with a High Grade Grindstone

Received the sharpener and I am very pleased as it is on par with my other Triton tools. I had been watching YouTubes and reading about setting up and using the sharpener. As I set it up for the first time, I slightly roughed up the drive wheel with 220 grit sandpaper and closed the gap on the leather hone by squeezing together and used some CA glue to keep it together. After some sewing machine oil on the leather followed by metal polish, the hone was ready to go. Another tip from a video was to slightly round the sharp edge of the stone wheel which was easily done with resurfacer. The sharpener runs quiet and smooth with no run out as I would expect from a quality tool.

OK. Not great. The wheel shifts slightly as it goes affecting the sharpening.

Right out of the box, Seems to be well built with all metal construction. Just slide the grinding wheel on and tighten it down with the wrench included. I removed the honing wheel then turned on the machine and lightly sanded the rubber drive wheel to give it better grip and stop slippage. This thing is awesome !!! Looking forward to sharpening my vintage plane irons and chisel collection with it.

As soon as I started unpacking this sharpener it seemed cheap. Then the water trough broke putting it on and that was as far as I got. Back in the box and returned. Spend just a little bit more and get the real deal.

Arrived on time. It was missing a couple accessories but I checked it out anyway. Triton says the wheel comes trued, it was far from true both on the face and the side. The wheel wobbled a lot so I checked the shaft, it was bent. Needless to say it was returned.

Awesome machine. Easy to use. I should have bought it years ago. Turns my $2 yard sale chisels into superstars.

Not worth the money.
