Perfect primer -- quick read but full of inspiration
This book gives a great overview to web design. In particular the authors do a good job of pointing you to the latest online resources and tools, often providing helpful comparisons when you have multiple options. As a beginner, the wealth of tools out there is an embarrassment of riches, but it can be overwhelming, and this book is a good orientation.

This book stresses the importance of the principles needed for web design
This book should be read by everyone trying to create a website, an application, or anything else that others will view on the web. It has a lot of great examples that both people who are new to the profession and who are seasoned can use.

This is everything the title says
This is a very well written book. The author knows his stuff. More importantly, he can relate it in an easy to read fashion.

Info good, page layout less so...
Into the second chapter, information is good so far but the layout is awful! The page breaks are infuriating and in places it’s making it harder to understand- the colour section for example that has screen shots of websites ends up with text under images that don’t match up!It feels like they have forced it onto less pages to meet print restrictions, but didn’t bother sanity checking it.It’s just disappointing especially given it’s a design book!I hope it gets betterEdit: 1/2 way into it and the layout issues continue...
