Lux programmable thermostat. This is probably the easiest to program thermostat on the market. Installation is easy and it works right out of the box. Very reliable. Change the batteries every year or so and you're good to go.

works great. You can adjust the swing time (how much you want the temp to drop before it turns on and off). It comes set to 1, which is the most steady temp but turns on and off a lot more and you can go all the way up to 9 which will let the temp drop a few degrees before it turns on agin but also goes over the set temp a few degrees before it shuts off. I hope this one lasts more then a few years.

Purchased this to replace an older, faulty thermostat of a differing brand. Installation and programming were very simple and straight forward. The directions in the packaging, regarding wiring and operation were very clear and easy to follow. I was up and running in less than 30 minutes. It's only been a few days, but the thermostat appears to be running flawlessly and, this could just be placebo effect, but my furnace appears to be functioning better as a result of this unit (more consistent, warmer air being produced) The Cons: The furnace filter feature is useless. Even if you change your filter regularly (which I always do!), but forget to change the settings in the thermostat to indicate you've changed it, the thermostat will stop working (to my understanding based on youtube reviews) until you reset the filter setting. What if you're away from home for a few days? Are your pipes going to freeze because you thermostat thinks your filter is dirty? How stupid! The swing setting is pointless. This is my fault for misunderstanding how it works, but I thought the swing setting just allowed the temp to dip a little lower in your home before telling the furnace to kick on, bringing the temp up to the desired programmed temperature. But it doesn't do that. Yes, it allows you to let the temp drop a little extra, BUT, when the furnace kicks on, it also raises the temperature an equal amount ABOVE the programmed temperature setting. For example. I have my thermostat programmed for heat at 63 degrees F. If I set the swing for 2 degrees, the thermostat kicks on at 61 degrees (as I want it to) but doesn't kick OFF until the home temperature reaches 65 degrees. Uhhhh, wut?????? No, bish, I want you to kick off at 63. THAT'S WHY I HAVE IT SET TO 63!!!!!!!!!! If I wanted you to kick off at 65, I would program the unit to kick off at 65. Thus, I find this feature pointless, as it just causes the furnace to run for a longer duration when it does kick on, negating any advantage of a wider temp drop. Finally, the face plate. An extra $10 for the cosmetic face plate? That's insulting. It's a little piece of plastic and you want $10 extra for that? It should be included. You can keep it! I deducted a star for this, the swing setting, and the furnace filter pointlessness. Other than these minor flaws, it's a nice, affordable programmable thermostat that is a little bit nicer than your bottom of the line Honeywell and other brands you would find at your local wally world.

The LUX Pro is a nice Thermostat. Programing is a bit tedious but once you are done it’s a Set and Forget It. Reasonable price too.

Replaced the old Lux thermostat after 29 years with this new one. It us super easy to install, easy to program, and works excellent.

My old LUX TX500E thermostat was continuing flashing "OFF " after replacing the batteries. I hit reset then factory reset, and after days of troubleshooting and research I finally gave up and decided to replace it. I ordered the LUX PRO PSP511LC from Amazon Thursday night and received it Friday morning before 10 am. Before purchasing, I immersed myself in researching and understanding each colored wiring and its functionality. I removed the new thermostat from the box and black plastic strip from the battery housing and made the proper Date/Time and programming needed. To my surprise the new PSP511LC case fits perfectly with the old wall case. Snaps right-in with no hassle whatsoever. I ran some test on the unit and it RUNS PERFECT!! I decided to use the old wall case and and not to deal with the wiring. If it's not broken, then don't fix it. GREAT PRODUCT

Nice thermostat - easy to install - easy to program - works well - we have two heaters so I bought two of these and replaced two old thermostats at the same time. Both thermostats were installed new in October 2022 utilizing the batteries that came with them. In March 2023 one furnace quit working. I had a technician come out (for $180) to check the furnace. He found the furnace to be working properly but advised me the thermostat was bad. Looking at the screen of the thermostat it appeared to be functioning properly, but apparently was not turning on the furnace. These thermostats have a base they plug into. It was easy to swap thermostats and the nonworking furnace began to work (should have done that first). Using an inexpensive battery tester that rates batteries "good, questionable or dead" I tested the batteries in the nonworking thermostat and found the batteries rated as "good". In spite of that I went ahead and changed the batteries out for new ones and the nonworking thermostat again began functioning properly. A month later it is still working. Bottom line - I really like this thermostat - Except it is very disappointing that a battery could be the issue without an error code or some indication of a bad/low battery being reported on the thermostat screen.

I've had numerous t-stats over the years and the only brand I've come to trust is Lux. This one is replacing another brand for my gas furnace and I have one more Lux that has been controlling a 70,000 BTU gas fireplace the last 11 years. I researched many t-stats under $Can50 before this one and I can tell you if you want to control a furnace, this t-stat has the absolute minimum features you need. From my experience with this t-stat and my other one, I can tell the team who worked on this t-stat put a lot of thought into it; their passion is reflected in the final product including the manual. I'm listing here, in no particular order, some of the features that in my opinion are key: a. you can easily configure 4 time periods for Mon-Fri and another 4 time periods for Sat & Sun. b. it has a very important feature called a swing setting. The swing setting controls the temperature hysteresis which in turn affects how often the furnace will turn on and hence how tightly the temperature is controlled. If you are sensitive to temperature swings, you may want to set a lower number but your furnace will now cycle more often. If you are less sensitive, set to a higher number for a lower duty cycle. Unfortunately the otherwise excellent manual is missing information on the hysteresis increments so I'm including them below. c. to change the display from the factory default of ° F to ° C, change the jumper shown in the manual AND do a hardware reset. Anytime you change the jumpers, you must do a hardware reset so the micro-controller can read the new settings. d. the display is back-lit e. it's very easy to install Although I've given it 5 stars and a glowing review, the following features would make it an absolute knock-out against which all other t-stats should be judged: 1. a pre-comfort recovery that will activate the heating or cooling in advance of the actual set program time so that the environment will be at the desired temperature at the start of the configured time. 2. a usage monitor that tracks the on time for today and for the week. 3. 0.5° C resolution because some of us are more comfortable at 21.5° C instead of 21° C or 22° C. 4. humidifier control 5. a constantly visible set-point - Swing settings and corresponding hysteresis increments - #1= +\- 0.25° F or 0.12° C (from Set Temperature) #2= +\- 0.50° F or 0.24° C (from Set Temperature) #3= +\- 0.75° F or 0.36° C (from Set Temperature) #4= +\- 1.00° F or 0.48° C (from Set Temperature) #5= +\- 1.25° F or 0.60° C (from Set Temperature) #6= +\- 1.50° F or 0.72° C (from Set Temperature) #7= +\- 1.75° F or 0.84° C (from Set Temperature) #8= +\- 2.00° F or 0.96° C (from Set Temperature) #9= +\- 2.25° F or 1.18° C (from Set Temperature) Example: For tightest control, set swing setting on #1 which is plus or minus 0.12° C. For a set-point of 21° C, the furnace will turn on at 20.88° C and off at 21.12° C.

Replaced the Honeywell T4 as it was not compatible with my furnace, the water pump will no work with the T4 thermostat, technician spend 2 day to trouble shoot why not working refuse to accept it is the thermostat problem, I have 2 furnace and both thermostat replaced by this company will not work on heating mode with water heat furnace. As soon as I replaced back with the PSP511, everything back alive and worked both heating and cooling . Take 15 minutes to install and good value. No problems

I bought this thermostat on Jan.21/19. Easy installation. What I like most about this thermostat is that you can adjust the swing setting. This feature controls the number of cycles per hour that your furnace runs. My old thermostat, which was installed by the service company(for free) in Jan.2018, ran on cycle time. The best setting that I could get was that the furnace came on every 10-15 minutes and ran for about the same amount of time regardless of the temperature. That means if set at 68F, the furnace follows the cycle time, running whether the temperature drops or stays at 68F. The constant start/stop was driving me crazy because of the unnecessary wear and tear on the motors, ignitors and valves and the compressor on the A/C unit in the summer. It might take a little time to find the right setting for you, but the swing time can be adjusted to avoid the short cycling and hopefully save on gas and hydro bills..

Comes with labels to make wiring simple! Unit is fairly intuitive, however setting the incremental adjustments of 0.25 degrees requires reading the manual. 4 periods of time can be set per day on the 5 day weekday program and on the 2 day weekend program. Has a filter replacement reminder you can set if desired. Screen illuminates when a button is touched and then turns off after a few seconds. I've had the until installed and operational for many months now, operating the furnace and the A/C without any issues. An excellent programable thermostat!
