MTM 100 Round Flip-Top Ammo Box 38/357 Cal (Clear Blue)

MTM ammo boxes are the only ones I will ever buy. I’ve never had a bad one or an issue with any, and I have a lot of them in various sizes. Also love the MTM ammo crates. Perfect for lots of things besides ammo

I got a great deal on these and was very satisfied with the quality of the plastic and the tightness with which it latches closed. I keep my 7.62 Tokarev in it but it should be good for anything short that’s ~30 cal.

This review is for MTM 38/357 Cal 100 Round Flip-Top Ammo Box in Transparent Blue (ASIN: B000PW8CS0). I have had really good luck with MTM products, so they are one of my main brands I go to. I needed something to carry loose rounds in for when I don't want to take a large box/bucket or use a bag. The plastic is better on this than I thought it would be. It's not flimsy. There is actually a real, full-length, hinge. The photo in the listing just shows a plastic molded flap. So, the case I received is definitely better than what they show. Also, the latch is pretty good. It's a fairly solid click, and there are two additional non-locking tabs to help keep the lid closed. There is a tiny amount of play with the closed lid. This case will protect against rain, but it won't keep water out if submerged. I like the section of smooth front that you can attach a label too or use a marker to write on. Also, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this case holds a lot more ammo sizes than just the .38 Special & .357 Magnum that it was listed for. On the back of the case it lists that it fits the following sizes: 38 Special, 357 Magnum, 32 WCF, 5.7x28 FN, 38 S&W, 30 Mauser, 32 H&H Mag., 327 Fed. Mag., 35 Win. S.L., 38 Auto Colt, 38 Super, 9x28 Win., 7.62x25 Tok. Max. AOL = 1.68". Made in USA. Supposedly they offer this case in a transparent smoke grey, which I would have preferred, but it wasn't available. Speaking of transparent, I really like being able to see what I have in the case without having to open it. So, overall, I am super pleased. I received something that was even better than what I thought I ordered.

If you are looking for protective boxes these are exactly what you need foe ammunition or lubed lead bullets.

Does the job, and you can see through the top to know how full it is at a glance. Not sure how sturdy it will be over time but better than loose ammo in a bag or something.

MTM makes great overkill ammo boxes and accessories. I have boxed over 40 years old that work like new. If you ever bother to clean one up, they actually look like new again, but who cleans up their ammo boxes? Lids stay closed; they survive direct hits and drops without a whimper

Die Box hat, im Gegensatz zum Produktbild, ein richtiges Scharnier für den Deckel - das ist natürlich haltbarer, als wenn er nur mit einer Kunststoff-Lasche angebracht wäre Insgesamt wirkt die Box sehr hochwertig und passt gut für .357 mag und .38 sp. Patronen müssen mit dem Geschoss nach unten eingestellt werden, wenn man also Munition mit verschiedenen Geschossen darin aufbewahrt, dann kann man sie bei offener Box leider nicht von oben unterscheiden. Wenn man also ein paar Reihen FMJ und ein paar Reihen SJSP darin aufbewahrt, dann muss man die Box schließen und von unten schauen, wo welche Patronen stehen.
