Update 2: This case is a fine bang-for-the-buck and hard to beat for the price. But it always required two hands to remove it and the bottom piece of material always feels like it is going to come off as I remove the phone from the holster and had to consciously keep a finger on it as support while removing from the holster. For requiring two hands to remove, I would rather have an Otterbox Defender and have purchased the same. An OB Defender is not perfect either as the cover over the phone's buttons make them harder to use. Life is a compromise. I am leaving my rating at a 4 as I think this system may fit others better than it did me.Update:After more investigation, I found a bit of the rubber portion of the case slid under part of the hard plastic retaining part in the center of the phone on one side. After a lot of work, I was able to get the bit of rubber out of its resting place and onto the face of the phone's display. Apparently this had been just enough added friction to cause increased difficulty in moving the phone in or out of the holster. It still takes me two hands to remove from the holster, but it may be workable now. Will see what the future holds.Original:I just installed this and it seems to be very good quality and the protection I was looking for from drops and scrapes- as I am hard on phones due to being very active with tractor equipment, chainsaws, etc. It is a very good buy for the money spent.However, I do have to agree with others who have stated it is too difficult to remove from the holster. It is certainly a two handed operation and even then takes a moderate amount of force. The extra friction seems to be around the middle third of the case as it is inserted or removed from the holster.I will try this for awhile but may have to go to an Otterbox Defender. Downside to the Otterbox for me is the plastic screen cover I would have to remove and the much harder to press buttons, as they are covered by a thicker, stiffer rubber-like material. However, the OB Defender has protected my RAZR HD phone through lots of hard times.

I ordered the Galaxy s5 Active Case about a week ago along with some different cases for my family. It came promptly and exactly when I ordered it. Here are some first impressions.Cons:This one isn't that big a deal, but I thought it was worth noting: the volume button on the left side doesn't accurately align, but that doesn't hinder its functionality at all.The rubber, while it does look and feel nice, can have a tendency to catch small lint and pieces of dust. Again, functionality isn't hindered but it doesnt look entirely clean all the time, in case that aspect is important to some.The kickstand is very difficult to dig out. I tried using my nail to pop it open, but then had to resort to using a small knife. Once open however, the kickstand works well, allowing you to use it at two angles (technically if you flipped the phone upside down). It does have a bit of a cheap plastic feel when you secure it in place, and though I'm a bit suspicious of how long it'll last until something snaps, I don't usually use kickstands and prefer holding my phone in my hands anyway, so that's not a big deal.The belt clip, while it does look nice and would fit well on a belt, I won't be using. Part of the reason is that it's very difficult to get the phone into its clip in the first place and it seems as though it'd be difficult getting the phone off my hip and into my hands.Pros:The case itself is sturdy and fits snugly on my Galaxy s5 Sport. I like the way it looks and feels in my hands; it's slim, grippable, and has a smooth, rubbery, silicon feel to the touch. The other cases I purchased, notably the Otterbox Defender series for a Galaxy s5 and s5 Sport, are considerably bulkier than this case. Though that's to be expected, it seems to me that both brands are of similar quality and both will do the job well. So far I prefer this one because it's much slimmer.Installation was relatively easy and took less than 5 minutes.The case came with a cute little stylus pen for my phone. It works well and looks nice.Overall, I'm quite pleased with my purchase. 5 stars!Nota bene: I just got the case and so these are just my first impressions; I still have to see how well this case will hold up over time.

FOR THE MONEY, I think this is a good case. I should say that I work in a woodshop so I have given it pretty rough service. I used mine for about 6 months before the first corner broke off of the belt-clip part, and then other pieces started breaking off on about a monthly basis. The belt-clip part's corners all broke off by about 9 months, so I had to start carrying the phone (in the case) in my pocket. Then, the plastic corners on the case, itself, started breaking off.Now, I AM still using the phone case, itself, but I am having to order another one tonight since all the plastic corners and center stays except one have broken (the next-to-last one broke tonight). For what it's worth, the rubbery part is still intact, and even if the plastic goes completely, that rubbery case will still afford some protection until I receive my new one.So, as much as I'd like it to be a little stronger and more break-resistant, it's a good value for the money, or I wouldn't be buying another one.Oh, by the way, the phone IS a little hard to slide into the case until you break it in. I found that by cutting the top two corners off of the felt liner it slid in much easier. You can do this with any sharp knife, like a box knife or hobby knife.
