The lights above the blades have a beautiful glow, which is great for mood creating. How ever, when the fan moves, the blade shadows create a slight stroboscopic effect in the room. People who could be bothered by this can turn off the light when the fan is on, or turn on other lights in the room to overpower the effect.The fan is good for 9+ feet ceiling. If you have 8ft ceiling the blade would hang a little too low. Buy a fan with light below the blade instead for more clearance, or better yet, buy a wall hugger fan. A short downrod is included as pictured.What's not in the picture are 2 pull chains, one for light and one for fan. They operate independently, i.e., light can be on and fan can be off, or vice versa. The pull chain for fan gives 3 speed levels, and the pull chain for light also dims 3 levels. The dimmer works with LED light bulbs, but wasn't designed for LED, so the two dimmest levels have the same output. Light bulbs are chandelier type, which have smaller E12 base. Incandescent bulbs were included, but I immediately replaced them with LED.The lights and fan are wired independently, so it's also possible to have 2 wall switches, one for light and one for fan. Of course, having only 1 wall switch will also work fine because of the 2 pull chains.The fan is quiet, but not silent. Wind blow is strong when stainding directly under the fan. Standing 3 feet away from the fan would feel windy mostly on the legs when the wind pushes across the floor. This common for this type of flat fan blade design with small pitch angle.

Fan is very loud when it runs at any level and light doesn't put out much light. In addition, fan's high speed is not fast enough to put out a lot of air.We hired the installers through Amazon and it took the 3 installers, over 3 hours to install this one fan. Not sure why it was so complicated.

Love the fan, the light, and the overall excellent construction. Easy to install too! It's just a great looking fan at a great price!

Beautiful but very noisy motor hum. Although it would be nice if the blades were more decorative/ornamental, overall, the fan is beautiful. Particularly like the up-light and really wish more manufacturers would design fans with them. They are so much more elegant than the down-lights found on most fans. However, attractiveness isn't everything... the fan also needs to function well. Unfortunately, even using the official Concord remote control transmitter and receiving specified for this specific model, it still produces the loudest hum I've ever heard on any fan I've ever owned - and I've owned a lot. Motor hum is not uncommon when using a remote control with fans; however, if properly designed, the hum can be minimized to the point that it becomes inaudible over the noise generated by the fan blades moving through the air. Bottom-line: I wouldn't recommend this (or perhaps any Concord fan) unless you plan on using it without the remote - which, I presume, would elimate the motor hum.

Upper light kit did not work. Returned for refund.

This fan is very pretty. I did not buy a light kit because I have lower ceilings and have other light sources in the room. The up lighting provides plenty of light, but you would need additional light for tasks such as reading.I had an electrician install this along with three Hunter fans in various rooms. He commented that this fan was harder to install. He also pointed out that the bulbs will be more difficult to change because of the design.

Motor is very loud, contacted manufacturer and after arguing back and fourth they sent a new one, it was quiet for about a year and then became noisy again!! Bottom line: fan looks good but it’s a piece of garbage from China and the company doesn't stand behind their products.

Beautiful...love it. Romantic glow for the bedroom. and fan works great.
