My parents have a spiral hand drill that is incredible. I have tried multiple brands trying to get something equally functional for myself and have failed until now. I didn't even buy this for the spiral drill, I wanted the hand drill and got it as a bonus. My only qualm is the small ring/sleeve near the collet that you can hold to better guide the drillbit – it's SMALL, basically useless if you have normal sized hands. The other hand drill is also great. The chuck is easy to use, it has basically no moving parts to break, it's just simple and works. I think the biggest star here are the drill bits. They are VERY good. Minimal pressure, a few twists of the hand drill, and they've dug deeper than I expected.

Good, easy to use finger drill for those small projects. The spinning top allows for comfortable use in the palm of the hand.

This is a middle of the road package. The pin vise is OK. The hand drill is poorly designed. The top, where your finger presses, should be free to spin or the mechanism can't return for the next action. As a result, the bit either gets stuck or spins in both directions. The better mini hand drills have a moveable mechanism that rides along the screw and turns the bit while the top remains stationary. In addition, the collets have four jaws rather than three. Three grip small bits better, and these are very small bits. The chucks on the pin vise are better than the ones for the hand drill. Finally, the bits are extremely small, so small it's almost impossible to open the package without scattering and losing them. I wound up using a magnetic finger to gather them. The least they could have done was provide a holder for the bits. For all these reasons, I returned this product. It worked but not as well as it should. You would do better to pay a little extra and buy a good pin vise, a good hand drill, and a set of bits in a proper holder.

Pin vices are good. Grip the bits tight without needing a pliers. bigger bits ok, the smaller bits are junk. The rotating mechanism is a little rough to begin with but after a few use's begins to smooth out. Overall a good buy. But, of course caveat emptor. The next may be junk.

If you need to create at tiny hole in delicate material, this tool is for you. Complete with a nice collection of micro bits. Obviously, if the size of the work surface and the strength of the material can handle it, a drill bit in a special chuck in a rotary tool is more efficient. But there are times when you must 'feel' the material and move incrementally - and that's what this tool is for. The price is so reasonable; I wish I had bought mine years ago.
