Portable, Good Sound, USB Charging Port; Simple Design. +1
There's a plethora of reasons people may be interested in a bluetooth speaker. I've included my personal reasons for buying this product so that others may understand what I was (and was not) looking for. Other reviewers have different motivations, so I recommend you identify which features are most important to you before making a purchase. I was primarily looking for portability, affordability, sound quality, and battery life. I'll be using this speaker on the go, at small parties, and around the house (when out of range of better speakers).Pros:- Sound quality. It's a critical feature to discuss, and one which I'm not very qualified to. I have only faint memories of other bluetooth speakers with which to compare, but I know I've been very pleased with this one so far. The sound is surprisingly clear, never muffled, and rarely distorted. Some quiet sounds and instruments drop out in the presence of louder, layered instruments sharing similar frequencies, but this is common to nearly all speakers. Just remember, if you want true audio quality, don't look for it in any bluetooth speaker. This is not audiophile equipment. It's for convenience.- Auxiliary input and USB output ports. These are my favourite features often missing in other bluetooth speakers. The auxiliary port allows you to physically connect a music player lacking bluetooth (with a 3.5mm audio cable). The USB output port allows you to power/charge other USB devices such as phones and tablets. The manufacturer also explicitly lists the battery capacity (3600mAh, more than enough for my purposes).- NFC and Bluetooth pairing are very easy. Anyone who complains that this product is confusing to set up should read the included manual or product description. Although it may not be entirely intuitive, the features of this device are thoroughly documented. Always read the manual before using or reviewing any product!- Very affordable. At the time of writing, this Rocktech PT-390 bluetooth speaker averages $40. For the most part, the overall quality is no better nor worse than I might expect for this price. I might consider increasing my budget in the future for a more complete, rugged-feeling, and intuitive speaker, but I am 100% satisfied with this purchase.Cons:- The "power on/off" and "pairing" voice volume cannot be changed, though I've come to expect this of many low-end bluetooth devices. Any volume louder than silence for these notifications is too loud for me, but it's not a problem if you can live with it.- The soft rubber frame around the speaker is snug, but it can be pulled away. I suspect this rubber exterior will be the first thing to fail under normal conditions. This especially applies to the rubber lid protecting the USB and aux ports. The lid fits loosely and is only attached with a thin piece of rubber. I expect this lid to be the first thing to rip, and it does not seem replaceable.- The soft rubber is a dust MAGNET. This is only a *minor* drawback because (1) the rubber serves a practical purpose (protection) and (2) dust only affects the aesthetics of the speaker, not its function. It's easy enough to brush off any particulate matter, however.- The same buttons that control volume also control track playback (next/previous). This is INCREDIBLY annoying. I hate when manufacturers combine these buttons. I always prefer dedicated volume and track skip buttons. Combining these buttons makes fine-tuned volume control very difficult without risking accidentally skipping or rewinding songs. This is not an appropriate feature for parties, especially if your guests want to adjust the volume themselves. It's far too easy to accidentally skip a song when you instead want to crank it up. This is by far my least favorite feature of this speaker. I was fully aware of this beforehand, though, so I knew what I was getting.Extra: To be clear about how these buttons exactly work: to rewind or skip a song, you simply TAP the forward ">>/+" or back "<</-" buttons. To adjust volume, you LONG PRESS (hold) the desired button for a minimum of ~1 second until you hear the volume change.- Although the manufacturer claims this speaker is waterproof and protected against "water submersion", it's only rated at IPX4. This rating appears in the product title and description, so you "technically" know exactly what you're getting. However, their verbiage is a bit deceitful and misleading. An IPX4 rated device means it's protected from "splashing water" (from all directions). Please look more closely at IP ratings if you truly need a submersible speaker. I strongly discourage the use this speaker in any depth of water (shower included). I don't need it for this purpose, so it's a non-issue for me, but it may be important to others.Overall, I do love this speaker for my purposes. Easy to charge, works great besides the drawbacks mentioned above. Affordable, too. Happy speaker hunting.

Charging problems and annoying audio features
It has decent sound for a little speaker. It has an annoying voice that announces: when you turn it on, when it’s paring with a device, when it connects to a device, when the battery is low, and when you turn it off. There is no way to control the volume of the voice. It’s always full blast so you run the risk of waking friends when turning it off late at night. Also, you cannot charge this speaker while using it. When the battery is low, it cuts out the music and announces, “Battery Low” Every 30 seconds or so while still playing music just fine. The battery lasts about 6 hours on a full charge...less when using it to preserve battery life on your phone.Because of charging problem and the annoying voice announcement feature, I will never buy this product again. Ever...“Battery Low!”........ “Battery Low!”....

I take a shower, a bath anything! Which is awsome because I love music, and I can take this speaker with me everywhere. who doesn't love singing in the shower? It is really loud, base isn't a big banger here but that's what house speakers are for right :-) I have gone one month without charging it, and it turns off by itself when it's not connected to anything. awsome to take to the beach and you can drop it knowing it won't break. Being outdoors all the time with this baby has been a mf blassst happy listening 0:-*

Love it!
Love it! You couldn't ask for a better product for the price. This speaker has went above my expectations. The sound is great, holds a charge for well over 12 hours. Its great for outdoor use. I accidentally forget it outside while camping and it rained on it all night long and didn't have a single problem with it working.

I would certainly buy this one again! Sound quality is excellent, automatically pairs with devices it has previously paired with, and loud! Sounds excellent at max volume which seems rare with speakers at this price point. I have not tested just how waterproof this speaker is, but I am confident it will be just fine. They send a floating device with it as well. Excellent product and value!

I thought this would have better range. Aside from that
The signal drops off when I walk from one room to another. I thought this would have better range. Aside from that, pretty good speaker.

Nice little speaker.
My husband uses it daily and hasn't had any issues with it. Works at a range of at least 25 feet, even through walls. A nice little speaker, especially for the price.
