Worth the money
These work really well and are not too obnoxious to wear.

They work for my wife, not for me (works for certain size and shape head/ear canals)
This is a really cool piece of technology. My wife's worn these outdoors and at an indoor range on a couple of occasions and has told me she can hear people speaking clearly around here in a similar fashion as I've experienced with my Howard Leight Impact Sports. She said it also did an excellent job of reducing the sounds of gunfire to not just hearing safe, but comfortable levels. Juxtaposing her experience with mine, they didn't work at all for me. They were painful when I was able to jam them in and not only was speech garbled or muffled sounding, but it didn't seem to reduce the sound level of gunshots or other loud noises. This isn't to say that the product is bad or doesn't work; it absolutely does, but it's highly dependent on your head and ear canals being the right size and shape to get these aligned properly. As to comfort, the one downside to these is that they only come with one size of foam ear piece which is really too large for my wife's ears. While they do a great job for her in the noise level department, they aren't comfortable enough for her to wear for her to get away from traditional ear protection for all but very quick practice sessions. I hope to see more ear protection based on this technology in the near future so it can be free of electronics :D

Good but...
I got these for shooting Rimfire Benchrest. In the ear plugs didn't work well for me and a pain to put in my small ears. Muffs never worked because they are too wide and would hit the stock. These worked pretty good. Could tell the noise reduction and could still hear commands. Even worked when guy down the bench was shooting high power rifle. A bit tricky putting on your ear but just takes a little wiggling. Only complaint is after 20 minutes my ears were a bit sore when I took them off. Overall, pleased with them. Update:. Well, best to read instructions. Saw that you put them over your head with tip in ear and then tip the top forward some 30-45 degrees and rotate back to top of head. The cups slide right into the correct spot on my ear now. Perfect. No pain anymore after 20 minutes.

Small and compact but also work well
You will think this funny but I bought these specifically to use when I grind coffee. I keep them in the kitchen drawer. They are small and compact. We love fresh ground coffee and I hate the noise. These work perfectly.

NOT real ear pro.
I tried this form of ear pro, hoping that the advertised claims were at least close to being true. They are not; not even close. The manufacturer claims that this product provides better production than electronic ear protection. This claim is 100% fraudulent. As an avid shooter, and firearms instructor with my own range, I use a variety of types of hearing protection, depending on the situation. This product fails in every aspect of range ear pro needs. It does not provide anywhere near 31db of NRR. And the ear plug parts are so unstable, they are not useful for shooting rifles or carbines, where a proper cheek weld is necessary. Teaching a recent pistol class, I learned immediately, after the student's first shot, that these do not provide anywhere near the required hearing protection for range use. The full noise impulse of the gunshot made it directly into my ear, and hurt. These came off, and my electronic ear pro went on. The ringing stayed for a while. Their only potential use would be for operating work bench machinery, such as grinders & belt sanders, but even then, the subtle act of swallowing saliva is enough to move them out of alignment in your ear canal. I had attempted adjusting them in various ways for a better fit, because I wanted them to work. The minimalist design appealed to me. But unfortunately, the acoustic "sound reduction chamber" technology that the packaging advertises is completely ineffective. I wish it worked, but it does not. Since they have been in my ears, and the outer plastic part of the packaging has been discarded, I will not attempt to return the item. But considering they are less effective than simple roll & stuff "foamy" type ear plugs, there is little useful application for these supposed muffs.

I really wanted to give these a better review… keep reading!
TL;DR: seem to work very well OUTDOORS, but NOT recommended indoors, per my personal experience. I have thus “averaged” my score. I’d give them a “5” in effectiveness outdoors. A “1” indoors. Also, not super comfortable in my ears, but I can live with it if it’s hot outside. BACKGROUND I have the 31db version. My first use of these was on a friend’s outdoor range. I did not quite trust them, so I had a friend fire a few shots while I closed the distance between us to gauge how much level reduction was happening. I was pleasantly surprised when I made it all the way up to his 4 o’clock and a couple of feet away. Then it was my turn. I handguns in 9mm and 5.7, and my “AR-47” in 7.62x39. Really great results, aurally, IMO, and they do indeed let some selected sounds like voices through more than plain plugs. Regarding the effectiveness of the sound reduction, they produce an oddly filtered sound profile in my ears (you hear more of a low “crack” than a “thump”). So the hearing protection is for real, and this is important: OUTDOORS. HOWEVER Today I decided to try them at an indoor range. There is nothing on the packaging to suggest that this is a bad idea. I put on the protection as carefully as I’d done on my prior use outdoors. I entered the range, and started setting up, when a shooter a few bays down took some shots. Surprisingly sharp and loud, I thought. Then I took my first shot. Whoa. Way too loud to be safe! It was not horrible, but my ears rang for about 5 seconds afterward. I headed right back out and put on my over-the-ear protection and continued shooting.

Cool and light weight
These are fantastic. They are light weight. You can still hear conversations. They take a little getting used to wearing for long periods of time. The big thing is when it is hot out, they are not this big muff making your ears hot.

I honestly didn't expect this to work but thought I'd take a chance anyway. I'm truly shocked at how well it dampens sudden loud noises while still allowing much quieter sounds through.
