Hardware has become the new software
In an attempt to get VNC to run on an Ubuntu Desktop install, without keyboard/monitor attached, it became much simpler to order this device, then to continue fighting with alternate vnc installs and configurations. And boy, did I try. With this: Setting->Sharing->Screen Sharing On, Settings->User->Automatic Login On , done So, thanks for making this seemingly absurd device, but I get now why it is needed.

Does do 2560x1600 with a tweak
It does 2560x1600@30hz by default If you want 60hz you need to use NVIDIA control panel and create a custom resolution at 60hz

Durable, Monitor Bypass
Perfect! I have an older mini computer device that requires a monitor if you want to boot in UEFI mode. I noticed the problem because if I unplugged the monitor and reboot, the system freezes before ever reaching the bootloader. There's a software bug where the system halts if there's no monitor attached that only happens when in this mode. Now, all I have to do is plug in this dongle and it boots normally. It allows me to skip past the system locking up waiting for a monitor. I can now run my server in UEFI mode with secure boot enabled! I've also seen some systems that don't boot without a monitor. This dongle would resolve that problem by pretending to be a real monitor. I highly recommend this dongle because it's also very durable with metal construction.

Macht was es soll! Ich verwende den Adapter auf einem Mini PC mit Linux (ohne Monitor, Maus und Tastatur) um Remote auf den Rechner zuzugreifen.

انا ما عندي شاشة وبتصل مع الكمبيوتر عن طريق anydesk, teamviewer وهذول البرامج بحتاجو شاشة فها بحاكي التصرف وبسمحلك تتصل بدون مشاكل

DP-Goldは、商品名に「2560×1600 @ 60Hz対応」と記載されていますが、実際に手元の環境で検証したところ、2560×1600の解像度では30Hzまでしか出力できませんでした。 出品者に問い合わせたところ、 「1920×1080 @ 60Hz、または 4K @ 17Hz に対応している」 との回答がありました。 このため、商品ページに記載されている解像度・リフレッシュレートの表記と、実際の動作仕様には差があると感じました。 購入を検討されている方は、使用したい解像度とリフレッシュレートが対応しているかを事前に確認したほうが安心だと思います。
