Hyskore Track and Elevate Shooting Rest, OD Green

HySkore produces a series of rifle rests with some very unique and desirable features. Unfortunately, as unique as the Track and Elevate rest is it fell short in my opinion in a couple of significant areas. The cradle that supports the rifle stock has a sharply angled rest so that the fore end of the stock just rests in the V but not very far into it. I believe if it was "U" shaped instead of "V" shaped it would hold the stock more securely. If you are using a rifle with a flat and more broadly shaped fore end it would create an even more insecure rest. Another problem for me is that recoil will cause the rifle to jump out of the cradle. This makes rapid follow up shots more difficult if not impossible because you have to reposition your rifle back into or onto the cradle. HySkore used to produce a device called the DeadEye Varmint rest. I was unable to purchase this rest because it was discontinued. Perhaps the price point discouraged buyers but if you look on their web site or YouTube you can see that this rest answered the deficiencies I mentioned. In addition it featured a ball bearing system that should have produced a smooth rotation. It also had restraining straps to hold the rifle into position and a gas piston and springs to absorb recoil. Too bad it was discontinued because it was clearly a much better concept and worth the additional cost. The track and elevate looked promising in the video but in actual use it just doesn't make it for this shooter.

I bought this with the intent of it being a multipurpose device. So far I've used this while shooting benchrest at the range. It also came in handy to hold my rifles while cleaning them. It seems to work well for my needs. I did add a band of velcro to hold the forend of the rifle down in the front cradle. It jumps a bit due to recoil.

Promptly delivered as advertised. With a couple modifications, this is the perfect shooting rest. Would recommend to others.
