Mi Smart standing FAN 2 Lite 26880

This replaced an oscillating fan that that had lost it's oscill (sic). The fan is able to operate under several modes and each of them is very quiet. The most novel mode it has is the sleep mode. In sleep mode, the fan is barely audible with the added bonus of a blast of wind every 10 seconds or so. In this mode, I am able to get a good night's sleep. Add the timer function to the mix equation it all adds up to perfection.

This fan has very clean lines - elegant and modern with flush fitting controls. The plastic fan guard looks good, but will it survive hard knocks? Dust will collect on it and be hard to clean off. The front to the guard is secured from underneath by a ridiculously small screw which is fiddly to fit and will easily be lost. The electric cable is ridiculously short. I am of a certain age and required my thirty years younger housemate to set up the app, which then works well - but of course needs internet connection.At first there was a clicking noise. I removed the fan blade and refitted it, but not quite so tightly: it then worked perfectly. The seven blade design is highly efficient and the motor is absolutely quiet, nor is there much wind noise at high speeds. The night mode is curious: there are short bursts of higher speed: I believe this improves efficiency without excess power use, but am not sure about it. Some may notice the speed changes and be a little disturbed by them - if so, just it set normally at low speed.Some people complain about the height of the fan. It is ideal in a bedroom or if you are sitting down, so it’s fine for me. It is possible to remove one stand section and use it at ‘half height’, but that is still too high for setting on a table. If one of the two sections had been longer than the other it could have been ideal for standing on a table.Despite some points raised here I really like this fan, especially for use at night, and it is not expensive to buy.
