Wouldn't buy again.
The night vision works pretty well but where have it mounted is shady and anything it captures in the daytime is too dark to get any details. I bought this because I was robbed while at a Dr. appt in the afternoon. This would not have been at all helpful because I would not have been able to make out the features of the robbers. Also, I'm having trouble figuring out how to access it from the internet if I'm away from home and haven't been able to get it to work. I called tech support and the agent's english was so bad I couldn't understand him. And before he even had a grasp of what i wanted he said they were having high call volume and someone would call me back and hung up. 4 hours later I got a call from someone who was even harder to understand than the first dude. I told him I'd get it on my own and this time I hung up on them. Furthermore, I could not get it to connect to the wireless from 20 feet away with a brand new TrendNet router that is one of the best routers I've owned so far. It does have to go through 1 interior wall and a brick exterior wall but my phones and tablets don't have any problem connecting in the same area. Would not buy another or recommend to anybody else.

Good product, but you may need this "workaround" ?
Reasonable functions for the price. BUT: I automatically recycle my remote router and modem daily. Randomly my camera stops functioning after the router recycles "off" then "on". This camera has a direct line-of-sight to the router. They are about 15 feet apart. Other models further from the router (not in line-of-sight) are not affected. "Workaround" to my problem: In different locations I use the TP-LINK "HS100" to remotely turn the power supply off/on to different devices. The "app" that remotely communicates with my "HS100's" is "Kasa". When the camera unexpectedly shuts-down, I successfully restart it using "Kasa" and a "HS100".NOTE however: this is NOT-NOT an inexpensive solution !

Frustrated and Dissappointed
I've been trying to get this camera set up for a little over 4 weeks. The initial install of both the camera software and the server software went fine. The instructions included were absolutely awful but full instructions for both were available online. The real issue is that sitting in my own living room with the camera running so that I can look into my kitchen is not really the reason I bought the camera. The primary reason I bought it was to keep an eye on my house when I'm away and so far I have been unsuccessful in accomplishing this task. Lest you think this is the post of a nontechnical person. I am a programmer for a living, which of course does not make me a networking expert, nor do I claim to be. However I work with several network engineers and also others who are broadcast professionals and yet I have still come up short after involving these very knowledgeable resources. This is truly disappointing as this camera had me very excited when I first purchased.

No WiFi with Mac and Mac router DSL connection
I have a Mac. I followed the instructions, which seem to be straight forward. The camera would work OK in the initial setup mode while connected directly to the router with RJ 45 cable. But when the setup program said to disconnect the cable and place the camera where I wanted it (Didn't want it on a six foot Ethernet cable tied to my computer. This camera is supposed to work on WiFi. Mine would not.Tried all sorts of WiFi by using IP address of the camera coup[led with the IP address of the router, etc. Always the same result. Refusal to work on WiFi unless on a cable, which of course is not WiFi. Used the Trendnet Utility for Mac and dug into the innards with passwords etc. Still no WiFi connection. Returned camera to Amazon. Also was online with a diligent tech support rep, but a after two hours not WiFi results.Maybe this camera as good as it performs as a dongle to your computer needs some revised programing.

BEWARE!!!
BEWARE!!!!!Recieved this product and imediately attempted to set up using the install software provided. The software would not allow me to proceed with set up process past a location 2-3 steps from the beginning. iIcalled their tech support # and spoke to a lady with a VERY pronouced accent. She was very difficult to understand and directed me thru 3 attempts to install the camera- 45 minutes . No luck and I ran out of time. After a week or so I had an hour of time on my hands so I attempted a second time to get tech support - same accent, same results. I am of average technical knowlege and ability- can install software and run my home computor. This is either junk or way to technical for the average person. The software did not work! The tech support person speaks little english. In my opioion- not worth the trouble. Unfortunatley i waited too long to return trusting the tech support people could get me thru--I 'm stuck with this 125.00 junk.

Useful; affordable but don't expect quality images
This camera does what it is supposed to do. Images are of low quality, just like the low price. You get what you pay for, although in 2016 it should be better. For my purpose, it works fine. Lots of room for improvement, though, both for the camera itself and the software pieces you use with it (not all of which are necessarily TrendNet).

Great picture and the night vision has been greatly improved
All I can say is WOW! I have been using Trendnet cameras for awhile and this camera is a big improvement. Great picture and the night vision has been greatly improved. Only thing I would mention is the night vision lights can be seen when turned up to full intensity, but with full intensity you get a great picture at night. Installation was easy, but I'm a computer expert and I've been using the Trendnet products. Works great on my Android phone, using aftermarket and Trendnet viewing apps.

No support for Linux
TRENDnet no longer supports Linux in addition to the previous post that it no longer supports Mac. Horrible business decision. This was my 5th TRENDnet camera and will be my last. Someone posted in the Q&A section they got it to work by installing ie tab in Chrome but that does not work either. ie tab clearly states it only runs in the Windows version of Chrome so not sure what that guy was thinking.
