Perfect deduction game.
Yes an app is used. No it's not a secret. Don't understand that review. The app works well and is a small part of this fantastic game. It also makes the game indefinitely more playable.Should you not want to use the app (or the web based version), then the developer has released files so a human can take over the app duties. You can find these on 'board game geek'.Anyway I love this game. Plays excellent at two players and solo mode is a good challenge too with various levels of difficulty to try out.

Board not apps.
I have seen all the reviews bigging this game up.Yes the game is a logical deduction puzzle, well thought out and designed. What they don't tell you, is that everyone has to have the app on their own mobile phones or tablets to make it work. You can't use a central screen, as everyone then sees your clues. My friends cannot be bothered with downloading an app to play a game once in a blue moon and you try to play it with one device and just forget it!It just does not work,. Who wants to lend you their mobile and keep inputting the passcode because you have timed out. Then you lose the app because you keep passing it around and someone presses the wrong button and you have to start again. The app is the weak link and I cannot understand the multitude of positive reviews. It is a complete pain that makes the game sterile.I am a board game fan and this is not a board game.It may appeal to the generations that want everything to be on their mobile and would not normally play a board game, but it is not for me and my friends and totally misses the entire point of playing an interactive board game.About as much fun as trying to get a TV picture with a crappy ariel.

Massive space themed logic puzzle game
If you love Clue/Cluedo or logic puzzles then you will absolutely adore The Search For Planet X. The game strikes a perfect balance between being complex enough to get you scratching your head while not being overwhelming. The feeling of working out where something is, which sets you on a chain reaction of eliminating other possibilities and confirming others, resulting in a massive revelation on your turn is amazing and really makes you feel super smart. The box has nice art, and the components are all high quality and thematic, I especially like the movers and the sheet for writing down your working out is immensely helpful. I think this game works very well at any of the player counts available: 2,3 or 4. Overall, this is one of my favourite board games of all time and earned a permanent place in my rotation of games and I think I will still be playing it for a while yet!
