We weren't sure if we were going to get chickens or not so we decided to do some research. This book looked the most in-depth so we gave it a try and it's excellent! It's a great resource for learning about chickens or even just refreshing your memory on certain topics. Covers everything from which breeds to consider suitable for your purposes, how to build coops and what type of coop to use, chicks, eggs, laying, butchering, and everything in between. Really simple language and makes everything easy to understand. Highly, highly recommend!

As a first time chicken owner, I relied on this book to raise my chicks to full grown layers. Now I use it as a reference to guide future decisions. I highly recommend this book if you are new to chickens.

This book is okay poor quality of paper and really didn't answer a lot of questions.

My DIL bought me chickens for Christmas, lol. This book was a big help. I still need to give it a really good read, but from what I've thumbed through and looked at so far, it's a great book. It's humorous, full of facts and helpful info, and thorough.

Diving into raising chickens for the first time. I've been around them quite a bit in the past, but never had to care for them from start to finish. This has answered a lot of the basic questions I've had and given me a way to ask informed questions from friends with experience that the book may not 100% answer. Ready for my chicks to arrive in a few weeks!

This book is great. It covers all the basics of raising chickens for different purposes. An absolute must have for back yard chicken owners.
