Product is as described. Nice quality. Just started using today so unsure about effects of it yet. Added to my oatmeal and did not affect taste.

I haven't used slippery elm as a supplement, so to be fair I've rated five stars. However, for the purpose of haircare, the consistency does not provide any slip. I've used at least three times the recommended amount. No gooeyness = No slip. The powder is also really dark, which leaves quite a mess.

I started drinking this in tea on an empty stomach to try to heal my gut, but after using it daily until the entire bag was gone, I still didn't notice a difference. It doesn't taste very good, but I didn't really expect it to either. I decided not to reorder, and am instead looking for another solution.

I make a slippery elm tea for my throat with this. It works great and dissolves well.

If the power is not made from the inner bark then it is no better than bark from any other tree. This produst apparently is MADE FROM OUTTER BARK and has NO SLIPPERY EFFECT at all, no matter how concentrated it is mived. Lesson learned 1) If it says made in China don't buy 2) If it doesn't say made from inner bark, don't buy. I subsiquently bought some made in the USA, organic, and says inner bark on the label and it makes a gel like substance when mixed with water, just like it is supposed to do.

I don't think I will continue using this stuff. It dosen't gel the way the Now brand does. I'm not even sure it is doing anything for me.Edit:After using this product for a while and having the chance to compare to Now brand slippery elm, I have to change my review. I actually think this product works much better than Now for regularity and soothing my gut. I will definitely continue using this one.

I don't understand all the negative reviews, this is a great produce for me. I mix a tsp with a cup of hot water to make a tea, drink as needed for stomach pain (semi chronic reaction to food poisoning) or diarrhea. It helps a lot with both conditions; I've just ordered my fourth bag.
