Pretty good. Tony Parisi is the real article
Pretty good. Tony Parisi is the real article, but I found the book a little rudimentary in the early chapters. When you are this level, hit it hard, unless you want to be all things to all people. Will update this review once I have had more time with it, but for those who don't know - the author is in the epicenter of the action in the real world.

I purchased this book for a friend who just got interested in virtual reality. I've been working in the VR for several years and Learning Virtual Reality is a a great overview for hobbyist and hardcore developers alike to understand what VR is all about. It's easy to read and digest and even includes some code to get you off running. I highly recommend this book if your someone who wants to understand how to develop and learn about virtual reality.

Save your Money and Just Google "VR"
This is a very short book with very little original content. Most of the book is a recounting of hardware and software instructions that are freely available on the Internet.

Great introduction for soon-to-be VR devs
When I ordered the book in June 2015, I was just starting to learn developing VR experiences with Unity3D. Now, half a year later, I have done quite a few things on different platforms, struggled with version upgrades breaking things and found out about strengths and weaknesses of one and the other production chain and VR device, as well as use cases. From that point of view, this is the introduction I wish I have had, when I embarked on the VR trip. Wether you want to develop full fledged Desktop applications or aim for web mobile shorts, you'll find useful starting points well described. The challenge of writing a book to provide overview and introduction of a still highly fluctuating technology was well met by Tony.

I did not actually apply it practically but read the book cover to cover to familiarize with the technology.
