The subject is clearly exposed with a good number of examples; very helpful are the mp3 downloadable archives to listen to the exact pronunciation of the sounds in order to catch the the tones. The video materials are also very well done and helpful to get into the spirit of this marvelous and still very poor known language.

I found this book very helpful since, together with Romanization, it introduces the reader to the script. I think that learning the script is fundamental to learning Burmese language and cannot be left apart. Moreover, the book is very clear in the explanations. It introduces the basics of Burmese, but it also offers some introductions to gramatical issues, beyond the beginners level. Each chapter is accompanied by an exercise section which is also very useful. The audio part is also valuable since it uses native speakers.Sincerely, I am sorry that the book is so short: it would be wonderful to have a second volume covering more advanced issues. I like very much the way the Authors have presented the subject and I would encourage them to go on with their efforts.
