Pleatco PFS1836 DE Grid Filter Replacement for Unicel: FS-2003, Filbur: FC-9530

My filter grids developed tears after 8 years of use and I needed to buy new grids. Leslie's wanted $447 for the exact same manufacturer and model number grids as these and were sold out for at least 14 days. I ordered these and they arrived in 3 days with prime and fit perfectly. The water showed immediate improvement for clarity after the initial 10# DE load. I then vacuumed up the excess filter media from my pool bottom and within 30minutes the pools was nearly crystal clear. Will respond back on durability after the summer season. I rated the ease of install solely on the fact these grids fit perfectly in the filter housing - putting the filter back together is always a little challenging...lol Definitely worth the money especially at 1/3 the price of your local pool store!

Just installed these today in a Pentair FNS 36sqft filter. The old ones were 6 years old and one of the grids had developed a few tears that were allowing the DE to flow back into the pool. Last year I had disassembled the filter and cleaned the grids and didn't notice the hole. I never seemed to get the flow through the old grids that I was expecting. Well I discovered today the reason why was because the grids were caked with calcium deposits which restrict water flow. Anyway, these inexpensive grids are working great, actually too good as I had to reprogram my multi speed pump to prime at a lower speed because the flow was now so high that the fountains looked more like a volcano exploding. I might grab another set at this price and put them in the shed. I figure if they last 3 years they will still be 1/3rd the price of the Pentair grids yet last half as long... so they're a good deal.

This set was affordable and arrived quickly. Just as advertised. The fins fit nicely into the pool pump and they worked with zero issues. Very happy with the purchase.

The grids work great but the inside fins are slightly too fragile for long term use. This is my 3rd set in two years. I had hoped to get at least two years out of each set.

I only gave 4 stars for value and durability only because when purchased everything on the planet is overpriced and I won’t know how durable they really are until after a few seasons. What I can say is they seem to be better made than the original Hayward grids. These have a double stitch sealing the bottom of the grid whereas the original Hayward grids have a single stitch and the rest of the seam was glued which is why mine failed after only 2 seasons shame on Hayward for charging top dollar for inferior product.

All 8 Panels arrived promptly & safely (7 full & 1 half), They seem to be well built no frays or questionable seams. My DE filter (Hayward 36cf) is an older style, it did not have the manifold template on top so trying to get the panels lined up and locked in place while getting the center bolt secured took both hands, a knee and a foot - kind of like a game of twister to get them all in place. Yes, I did one at a time, making sure they fit the bottom slots properly, Still, it took 3 tries to finally get all panels lined up. I do think that's due to the system I have, as stated, it's old & I didn't have the top template to hold panels in place while I tried to fit and secure the manifold. Prior to changing the filter panels I had DE / dirt finding its way through the system and out the return jets when vacuuming the pool - extremely annoying! Now, no issues, Water was cloudy on restart, 12hrs later nice and clear, nothing comes through the jets at this point. As far as Durability, yet to be seen it's only been a week. So far I'd recommend this product, at $112 bucks and roughly 2 hours worth of work (I'm slow) it beats the pool company charging $400+ for a panel change and who knows what else extra they recommend you replace. If you do it yourself you know the condition of the system and components.

My old grids developed a hole and DE powder was leaking back into the pool. I looked on Amazon and selected these grids for my filter. I was a little hesitant to purchase them as Hayward seems to change products, but use the same model numbers. These grids fit the Hayward DE3620 filter (purchased in about 2008) perfectly. Easy to replace and now my water (and pool floor) are spotless. They seem to be made equally to the original grids, but time will tell.

I was looking for replacement inserts for our sand filter. I accessed several companies and prices ranged from $60 to over $200 for the 7-piece set. I ws a bit leary to go with the cheapest, which was the price from Amazon. I thought I would take a chance and these filters are just as durable as the originals that came with the filter. I noticed a large improvement in filtration and we have an older pool with a single skimmer system. We installed these filters a month ago and so far they have been very efficient. The savings was very significant and I am glad that there are providers out there who are not looking to overcharge.
