Expensive? Consider the alternative
So I did not hesitate to spend around £50 on salt and pepper shakers.Am I made of money? No.Have I spent more overall on cheaper alternatives? YesHave they all failed to do the one job they were made to do I.e. dispense salt and pepper when eating and cooking? Yes, sooner or later.I've had under £10 under; £20 and even one-handed electrical push button dispenser. Very cool but failed within 6 months of light use!!!These C&M ones could have been built by Porsche - they are that solid. The graduation dial is simple and effective. To refill, simply pull off the top and fill - easiest system I've used and I've used a lot.Didn't realise that it was a tall order to get a salt and pepper shaker right and am glad I've now got these.Hopefully, my final purchase in this sector :)

Quality and peace of mind.
These salt & pepper milks ooze quality, from the packaging to the feel in the hand and then to the best part, the use of them. Having been a user of supermarket prepacked one use salt and pepper grinders for years I had never really thought about buying a salt & pepper mill alone until I realised the difference in cost of the one use grinders to a box of salt whilst shopping online, I realised that I was a victim of false economy and I decided to look around for refillable grinders. I was originally looking for electronic grinders but the reviews were always a mixed bag due to the amount of batteries they used, the amount of seasoning they could hold through to electronic failures so decided to look for a manual set. When I saw these I originally thought people must be mad for paying so much for a set, but then I noticed the lifetime warranty and the old saying ‘buy cheap buy twice’ got me thinking. The copper set goes well with my kitchen theme so I decided to give them a go in the hopes that they would feel solid in the hand. Well these do, and not only that but the grinding action is smooooth...really a delight to use and as a bonus they actually look good to so I’ve left them out on display rather than hiding them away in the cupboard. It’s hard to get excited over a run of the mill salt & pepper grinder, but as someone that loves to cook and season well these are perfect in every way, they feel as though they will last a lifetime, and there’s always that warranty for peace of mind if they don’t. Buy a set and treat yourself, no more ratcheting away crunching up your seasoning, just a lovely smooth flow. I’m impressed to say the least.

Salt and pepper mills
I don't usually write reviews but I do read them before buying. So I decided to share my own. It's a very very expensive set however it worth the money. It arrived packed beautifully so if you are looking for a housewarming gift, look no further. Although I bought this for my own use the packaging was still impressive. Mills are sturdy, easy to fill, easy to use. It says it has lifetime warranty but that's remain to be seen after some time. I simply love it. However being a good and loving wife, I will never tell my husband the price I paid for it. Just to prevent him having a heart attack 😁

The king and queen of condiments...
These are exactly what I was looking for. A good size for big man hands, decent capacity, quality materials, easy to change grind size, and yeah, they look pretty good too.Obviously brand new but you can really feel a good grind on both salt and pepper 🧂 mills, with a decent variation in size when changed.Only one minor gripe is that they come in a lovely presentation box that has to be the most unrecyclable thing ever. Foam, plastic coated cardboard, magnetic 🧲 opening box. Very swish and presentable but felt more like an iPad than condiments.Other than that though, a top choice and crucially for my no chance of them loosening over time like many of the wooden topped ones do

Finally found what I was looking for
With apologies to Bono. I've looked for a decent pepper mill for years. After going through various manual & electric grinder mills that eventually (or quickly) failed, broke or just weren't great, this one is everything I wanted - tough, mills finely when necessary, egress from the base so condensation or dust doesn't get into the mechanism (and an annoying cap isn't necessary). It's easily adjustable and fillable, although it takes some strength to get the top off to fill it, this seems to me to be a feature, not a bug. Top marks as this is one of the best fit-for-purpose items I have bought on Amazon.

Beautiful salt & pepper grinder set, but the Pepper grinder not working well.
Bought this as a gift and allow recipient has persevered with them, they are now not using the pepper grinder because it is not grinding well at all. The salt grinder works perfectly and just what we expected from Cole & Mason but the pepper grinder just isn't. We've both checked for a blockage . Expensive for set when one isn't working. Extremely disappointedWould like to know how to return and obtain a new pepper grinder.

Quality Sat & Pepper mills
I’ve used Cole and Mason salt and pepper grinders for years now, never had a problem whatsoever with any of them. My wife and I had 12 sets in our guest house and all worked really well. Now retired, we needed a new set, and I’m pleased to say that these are even better than all of our previous ones. The grinder adjustments are great, pepper in particular, allowing a very fine grind through to a really coarse grind, providing quite a large amount of freshly ground pepper with not much effort.Downside, and I suppose it’s the same as with all of these types of mills is residue left over at grinding surfaces which will deposit themselves on your clean table when you put the mill down. You need to tap the mill to release the remains onto your food, or get one of the clear acrylic bases to fit both mills on.But I do recommend these highly, and am very pleased with my latest Cole & Mason set.
