Breaking Plateaus. Weight is dead on!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I purchased the 1.25 lb set of Micro Gainz fractional weight plates and I am extremely impressed by the quality, packaging, and craftsmanship. These plates are perfect for making incremental jumps on barbell exercises when I just can't make that 5lb or 10lb jump. The plates come well packaged in a branded box that fits them perfectly. I am very impressed that these plates are made right here in the USA. This is important to me because I noticed that most fractional weights on Amazon are just "Alibaba" specials imported from China. The value is huge with these plates. They are less expensive and feature a much higher quality than the Chinese counterparts. The plates themselves appear to be made from powdered metal. This is perfect for 2 reasons. First, they are made using a mold so the weight is dead on everytime. Second, they are very strong and durable. They are coated in a flat black finish which matches all the other plates at the gym. If you are looking to increase your max weight in any exercise or you are looking to break a plateau, these fractional weight plates are by far the best Amazon has to offer.

Stays in my ears
I don’t usually write reviews, but here goes. I have been wanting a pair of wireless earbuds for a while, but I was afraid they wouldn’t stay in my ears. Then one day, on impulse, I decided why not. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they fit. The price was also a deciding factor since I did not want to spend a hundred dollars plus for earbuds. The sound is awesome too, AND they cancel out noise around you. Another plus! I would definitely recommend these.

Sharp Edges
Finish is not great. The edges of the opening are sharp and need more attention in the finishing process such that the inside edges should be rounded or beveled. I had to lightly file the edges to smooth them out. The sharp edges we're catching/dragging on the tiny grooves of my barbell ends. The weight is close to 1.25 LBS and will serve it's purpose.

worth it
I hesitated to spend so much for 2.5 total lbs of weight, but it's proven worth it. As a small-framed female I often max out my lifts pretty quickly when I try to go up 5lbs per week---it's discouraging and exhausting (not in the good way). With these micro weights, I've been able to gradually get my lifts up higher than I ever could previously. I got the 1.25 lb weights to make it possible to go up in even increments, given that my gym's lowest weight are 2.5 lbs.

Smooth
They weighed in at 1.3 and 1.4. Smooth inside and out. Good enough for me.

Good quality, USA made and a fair price.
So here is the deal on these Micro Gainz micro change plates:1). They look better in person than they do in the pictures. Smooth, even paint coat and incuse logo (that means not raised but indented into the plate). They look nice.2). The Olympic size sleeve holes have decent tolerance, not perfect but better than some foreign made plates I have encountered that have a quarter inch of space between the hole edge and the barbell sleeve.3). They weigh really close to what they are supposed to weigh.4). Made in the USA, but prices still are same or lower than calibrated micro-plates from other companies that sell plates made in China. In summary, these are very decent little plates at a reasonable price, look better than micro plates from some other much bigger names in the business, and are made in the USA.

Help Deal With Those Pesky Kilos.
I bought a log from Titan which weighs 24 kg. Pain in the ass weight (52.8 lbs). With my 1.25 plates , I just forget about the .3 overage and I have a 55lb log , which is way more convenient.

Helped me LP when five lbs jumps were too much
These weighed 2 lbs 8 1/4 oz according to my scale, which is close enough for me. It has helped me continue through my Starting Strength LP when 5 lbs jumps started to become too much for me.

The finish is quite poor
It has a lot of knicks and dings along the surface, but the rest is just as expected.
