Fantastic A3 paper cutter.
This was my first time trying an A3 Dahle rotary cutter, and although the shopping experience on Amazon wasn't great on this occasion, this model of cutter which I purchased from a different website is still fantastic, so I felt I should provide a review of it.I needed an A3 cutter for work and after reading some reviews, Dahle is a name that came up often. I decided to go for this 508 model as the reviews seemed quite positive overall. When the order arrived from Amazon, it was the wrong model. Amazon were quick to put it right and offer a replacement but I needed it ASAP and couldn’t wait a few more days, so I ordered it from another website. The cutter, however, is perfect! It is a beautifully designed paper cutter for up to A3 size. The item is of excellent quality, well-made, and has a good weight to it. It feels strong and robust. The rubber foot in the middle provides great grip and stability. It's easy to take apart and maintain, and replacement blades are also available and reasonably priced. The cutter is very sharp and cuts perfect straight edges. Trimming can go right down to less than a millimetre. Before buying it, I read some reviews mentioning that the blade can get misaligned and cuts poorly with jagged edges, but I’ve not experienced that at all. I’ve had this cutter since February and used it daily, and it's still as sharp as the day I first used it. The blades glide smoothly and cut cleanly. The only thing I dislike about it is the sound it makes when it cuts; it goes through me, almost like a chalk on a chalkboard sound as the paper is cut. It still bothers me to this day, but it's a small price to pay for such a reliable cutter.I mostly cut thicker A3 sublimation paper, but I have also used it to trim photos down to size, and it works equally well. It can also cleanly cut multiple sheets at once without affecting the performance and accuracy of the blade. I think the most I've tried is six. It's quite expensive for an A3 rotary cutter, but the quality really does speak for itself. I can't recommend this enough; it's a great quality paper cutter.Thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope that you found it helpful and that it assists you in your decision-making. I try to be as honest and fair as possible, as those have always been the reviews that helped me the most.

Make sure blade outside metal strip
I have discovered that if you try to cut too many sheets of paper, or thick cardboard, the rotary cutting disc jumps inside the metal strip. I wasn’t aware this had happened on two occasions. It then gives the impression of cutting but it is stiff, and only partially cuts, or cuts in an arc rather than straight line. The picture given in the product details is key. You have to slide the cutting disc out and reposition it outside the metal strip. This might just be me being a bit thick but I got rid of the first one, and was about to chuck the second one before reading the information. Now it is cutting normally again.

Perfectly sharp and lightweight
My very old guillotine finally died, and I bought this as a replacement! I'd quite forgotten that guillotines are supposed to be sharp!! This is super sharp. I only need it for single sheets and it's perfect! I didn't realise how blunt my old one had become, and very happy it finally died! This is bliss!! Makes me want to look for paper to cut for fun!!

Lovely trimmer
A lovely print trimmer at a very good price that was even cheaper than the A4 version!Good sharp blade that made an excellent job of trimming down my home made Christmas cards - A4 folded twice so slicing through four thicknesses of 178gsm Epson matte paper. At this level of price and quality for none business use I cannot fault it. Full recommendation.

Terrible
Clamp can get in way of blade if blade gets pushed onto the board, which then cuts into the plastic. Quite disappointed.

Good Paper Cutter. Construction Not Perfect Due To Plastic Uprights Hence 4 Stars.
Good paper cutter works well, cuts easily and seems sturdy in operation but longevity and reliability issue being the uprights are constructed from plastic rather than aluminium. Made in China rather than in Germany so again outsourcing to increase profits rather than using meticulous German workers. What could have been "excellent" is downgraded to merely being "good."
