Last Man on Earth

Perfect product, great transaction!

The Last Man on Earth is the first of a few film adaptations of Richard Matheson's novel I Am Legend. The quality of the film is standard for any classic black and white horror film and has a charm not unlike Night of the Living Dead!That was the film's quality...The visual format is in letterbox, which many overlooked from what I can tell from the other reviews... as long as your TV can zoom at all, this isn't an issue. The problem I've dealt with is the menu setup. The company that dealt with this re-release hadn't decided to incorporate any form of "back button" to the menu options; meaning, if you leave the main menu, you'd have to remove the dist from the DVD player to get back to the main menu... Horrible menu options for a good Horror movie, Three Stars.

If you've seen I am legend or read the book this is the 1st incarnation brought to the silver screen

As the title states, I enjoyed the movie, which deserves 5 stars. However, the video quality is at best a 2.5 stars. I've view a number of older black and white titles from that time period and I'm convinced there is something wrong with the encoding of this one. Movements made by the characters induces odd lines and there is a constant blur. I'd advise you to seek another version of this movie if possible, I certainly will.

This is the best transfer of this film I've found to date, great purchase and a great addition to my B-movie collection
