Not the product I had envisioned before I ordered it. Main reason for buying it was to be able to use it as a base. Say I wanted to make some beans (pinto, black, etc.) I put some of this on the water instead of chicken or beef stock and voila! Tasty vegetarian base flavor ready to be devoured! I wanted to like it and reviewers had so many nice comments that I spend the money and got it. This is the rub: I can not taste the flavor enough to where I can gladly say it works for me. It is almost to vague, too mild, too evasive in the taste department to justify using it as a permanent asset in my warm kitchen. Maybe it is too natural that it barely turns liquids into a savory concoction? So I continue the search for the ultimate vegetable base that can distinguish and add tremendous taste to all manners of dishes. To cite and example: I use the cheap Knorrs Chicken Powder I purchase in Costco and when I use some of it on water (surely the amount of indescribable ingredients have a lot to do with it!) the liquid taste strongly of chicken. I realize this powder chicken is not the very healthiest but cooks have been using it for years on end and that is the point. I need a vegetable base that can tranform the liquid into live vegetable taste. I have done my own stock using onions, celery, leeks, parsley,etc. etc, and is hard work and yes, the final results are that the stronger the concentration the livelier the taste. This Vogue Cuisine, Soup Base Vegetable, 4-Ounce, beside being a little on the steep priced category, does not deliver the punch. Of course vegetable base will be less noticeable than beef or chicken bases, but I am not that impressed. This is one of those times when I will disagree with the rather high marks placed on this product and allocate my final verdict of 3 Stars (average). I have my sights zeroed in on this other brand sold by amazon that sells for about $36.00 bucks and it would be so nice if I had the tastiest base always available for my eager creations and the delight of those that live and die by my culinary results. I think I overdid it with the die part but you have to want to please your audience if you wannabee known as a reliable cook. 3 Stars.

A friend told me about this product. She is very health-conscious when it comes to food for her kids. One of her kids has allergy, so she has also been looking for good gluten free food products. She first found this line of soup base in a high-end food store in the East Coast and tried it out. Her whole family loved (and still loves) it. She sent me one as gift a few months ago and we tried it out and my kids love it too. We used to boil meat and vegetable or 2-3 hours and used the soup to cook food for the kids. This was very time and energy consuming. We tried other soup bases in the past but the kids complained about being very thirsty after drinking those. This one is great. It saves us a lot of work and the kids still get healthy delicious soup! I recently found it on Amazon & bought 5 different flavors. The order arrived within 2 days with my Amazon Prime membership and we now can enjoy the different flavors.

I have been using VegeBase for more than 20 years. BTW, It is amazing when scrambled into an omelet topped with Gruyere cheese and a touch of paprika (or if you are daring, Todd's Dirt for Crabs). On salads, VegeBase works so well for me with a little oil and vinegar. I can eat lettuce only when VegeBase is on top. When I'm making salad at home, VegeBase is almost a required ingredient -- sometimes just a touch, sometimes quite a bit. It's also great as part of the base in home made soups. Lentil with a hearty sprinkling of VegeBase cooked into really adds a lot of flavor, I think.

This is my favorite vegetable base for my soups because it makes them taste better. I have tried others, including a gel-type base, but found nothing I liked close to this one. The other powders had odd flavors, and the gel concentrate was difficult to measure, more costly, and required using a larger amount. VegeBase is a powder and very easy to use. Although I wish it was available in a larger size, I was happy to find it on Amazon, because I haven't found it locally since moving to a rural area in a new state.

I bought this soup base because it is vegan and non-GMO. It's not the best tasting veggie base I've had, but is still pretty good. More importantly, it's healthy! I do find it slightly too bitter and have to add lemon or salt to flavor it up in most recipes. I'll buy it again though, because every other base seems to have GMOs or lots of added MSG.

Very nice inexpensive stock base. Unlike most cheap bouillons, it's not mostly salt, which is great. It's not gourmet, but I didn't expect it to be, and I think it beats out any other comparably priced bouillon I've tried. I'm going to keep on getting it.

Have been looking for low salt seasoning to pair with shirataki noodles for a low salt/low fat/low cal ramen. This seasoning is decent. Need to use 2 servings to really get enough flavor, but its good enough that I might try the other flavors, as there are not a lot of other low salt options out there.

So far, this is the best soup base I have found for vegetarians. Soup can be so healthy and this base has a good flavor. This is my third jar. I’ve tried others that don’t compare and even have a nasty taste. This one won’t ruin your meal!
