Highly recommend this mat. Very durable and thick enough to tamper the portafilter and doesn't leave a mark. Also has a lip if there is a slight spill. I'm going to buy another one to use in other applications.

Perfect tamping mat and workspace—nice and thick mat, seems durable. Out of the box, there was no smell to the mat at all. And, it's easy to clean after using. I couldn't be happier with this item.

My espresso corner is small and wanted to protect the wood countertop. This is perfect. Great quality.

Impressed by the quality of this mat. We've placed it in front of our espresso grinder to keep things a little more tidy. Looking forward to using it. It should allow for easy clean-up and will provide a protective working surface. Looks nice too.

In the end, I decided on this tamping mat b/c of its size, thickness, price point, and its being touted as an "Amazon's Choice" item. And it does meet my primary requirements. However, I think I was a little surprised by the somewhat "jagged" edges of the mat--where the silicone simply had not been trimmed cleanly during the mfg process. Not a deal breaker--and certainly only a "lst Nation" issue of the lowest order when you consider the privilege it is to even enjoy an espresso.

I am new to having an espresso machine and I was taken back by the small size of these but they are incredibly useful. I use the 6 inch square one to knock the coffee out of the portafilter and then I can just pick up the mat and dump the coffee out and rinse the mat. I use the 5x12 inch one as a tamper mat to catch the spills and then I just pick up the mat and rinse it out in the sink. The small sizes actually work much better than a larger mat would because they are easy to pick up and rinse off. They really help control the mess and make clean up easier.

Works great for the limited space in my coffee bar and is showing no wear from being used every day.

Item is as you expect. Keeps things tidy by holding - WDT, Portafilter, Tamper, Dosing Funnel and Brush. No problem tamping directly on the mat and easy to clean as it holds the spilled coffee grinds.
