The NOGA holder is the finest in the world. If you purchase this style holder and it is not made by NOGA you will not be happy with its' performance. I made the mistake of purchasing 'Look Alike" holders and they simply do not work. The Asian knock offs are a waste of your money and you will not be happy. This is the second NOGA holder that I own simply because I want a dedicated NOGA holder for two different indicators. This NOGA also has the fine adjustment on the bottom which I much prefer. My other NOGA has the fine adjustment on the top and it is not as easy to use as the fine adjustment on the base. The arms can sometimes be a little long for the lathe but they uniquely fold and it works perfectly. The NOGA is more money, but you will not be disappointed with the quality. This holder is the choice of professional machinists because they absolutely work flawlessly.

This is the best holder you will ever use! I highly recommend for any machinist. The thing that is so nice about it is that you can be completely set up and reading your dial with this moving from machine to machine in just seconds. The fine adjustment at the bottom lets you dial it in very precisely. The arms are long enough to be plenty useable on any lathe with a 20 inch swing or smaller or any milling machine. Guaranteed....once you buy this you WILL throw all other holders in the nearest trashcan. This is a professional grade tool!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best 100 bucks I ever spent.

This is falsely advertised! The majority of 1" travel indicators does have a 3/8" stem, however, this Noga has an 8MM or 5/16" stem hole! (whichever you prefer, .002" difference) If you are a machinist, which you more than likely are if you are purchasing this, you can easily make an adapter to fit in the 5/16" hole on the holder and bolt on to the lug on the back of your indicator. One review said the dovetail was too tight. I did not find that to be the case. Although dissapointed at the 5/16" diameter hole, its still a Noga. You can't beat the quality.

This indicator stand is exactly what I needed. The tightening knob works very well to stabilize the indicator, and the fine adjustment knob at the base is perfect. Other bases I have used have the fine adjustment near the indicator, making the overall stability of the indicator worse. I use this with a .00005" unit test indicator for very precise adjustments and all in all, I could not ask for a better magnetic base.
