Worked great
I used this to remove a barrel from a Tikka T3, with both flat sides on the top and the bottom of the receiver and it held perfectly. I used pieces of a single sheet of plain paper between the wrench and the receiver to protect the finish. The handle unscrews from the wrench which allows you to place the wrench on the receiver without having the handle in the way. Great product!

Wheeler Action wrench
What I liked is that it is well built and heaver than I thought. What I didn't care for was the bolts were stuck and I had to borrow an electric torque wrench to separate it.Overall I recommend it.

Heavy metal. Appears to be well-made but...
I purchased this Wheel #1 Action Wrench to separate the barrel of an antique model 1895 Mauser rifle from its original receiver. The barrel's rifling appeared to be very good from what I could see of the lands and grooves, but for whatever reason, was plugged and welded at the chamber, rendering the rifle useless for anything but a wall hanger. The prior owner also cut the locking lugs off the bolt. Since I plan to replace the barrel and restore the rifle to its original glory, I didn't want to destroy the receiver by trying to "bubba" it off the barrel, so I purchased this action wrench for the job. The wrench is constructed of heavy solid steel and is quite simple in its design, with not a lot of moving parts. I'm certain with a strong grip in the vice and enough leverage on this tool, the receiver will separate from the barrel, however I was unable to use this tool as the bolts were seized onto the tool. I tried everything I could to loosen the bolts, but they refuse to loosen. The tool appeared new, as it was wrapped in plastic, but had a coat of surface rust on it. While I doubt the rust will affect the performance of this tool, its may be preventing the bolts from loosening in the handle head, so I am returning the wrench for a replacement.UPDATE 2/8/22. I received the replacement wrench in the mail today. Like the first one that I returned, this one also has a light coating of rust on all surfaces. The bolts were screwed down beyond tight and required an 18-inch breaker bar and 100+ lb-ft torque to loosen each bolt, presumably due to rust having formed in the threads. The bolts are mismatched, with one threaded the entire length of the bolt while the other bolt is only threaded toward the bottom. This wrench will likely do what it's made to do, and separate a receiver from the barrel and vice versa, but its crudely made and IMO not worth the $73 they are getting for them.

Came with the wrong bolts and rusted.
Mine came with the wrong bolts just like some other reviews. The bolts they sent with my Mauser wrench are the correct length for the Remington 700 (2.5 inches) not the 3.0 inches that the instructions specify for the Mauser receiver. I have no clue how well the product works since the bolts are not long enough to actually reach the threads on the opposing block. As is, the product is unusable. I will either return or hit up the local hardware store to buy bolts that are actually long enough to reach the threads. I also experienced the same issue as others with rust on the bolts and in the threads. If you buy this wrench, plan a trip to the hardware store to get the correct bolts, kind of lame if you ask me.

Works Great
Ive used this for almost a year now to install and remove barrels from k98s, type 99 arisakas, p14s and 1903a3 (with a little modding to remove some metal for clearance on those receivers. Awesome, heavy tool! No problems even with the most stubborn barrels!

Easy to use
Works very well for removing actions from barrels so that you can thread your barrel. Does not work for AR10 barrels!

Fits Tikka
Fits Tikka T3. Just don't tighten the bolts too much. Can cause the receiver to clamp onto the barrel. Making it hard to remove.

Waiting for the vise to go with it, but ...
Waiting for the vise to go with it, but I have no objections to the quality. I will have to order the other one for any work on a Remington 700. (Sigh, have to buy more tools).
