Introduction to Emergency Management 5th Edition, Kindle Edition

My husband needed this book and this was at a GREAT deal than what others were selling. It did take a little bit for it to be delivered, but it wasn't a huge deal. Product was exactly as described and the book is in great condition.

My daughter got a lot of use from the book and it was in GREAT condition.

Required material for my class however I would not own it otherwise. In the first chapter it references early emergency management going back to the Egyptians attempting to stop the flooding of the Nile. However it also references Moses parting the Red Sea and states this could be considered an early attempt at EM?!?!? I am not choosing religion or Darwin, however I think the author stretches a bit too much and there are more examples in the book.

I bought this for a class to answer the discussion prompts. It's very explicit and well written. I am satisfied with the information contained in this book as well as the way it's written.

I'm using this text to teach a class. It is the most current and comprehensive introductory text I've found for an intro and historical summary of Emergency Management in the U.S.

Great book for an introduction to Emergency Management. Touches all the necessary topics, and goes in depth enough to make it interesting.

Very informative. It is for class but I actually like reading the chapters, they are far from boring. I'm impressed.

As the title suggest this is an introduction to the subject. I would have liked to see more indepth penetration if the NIMS model of incident command and more focus on each role of command and general staff and how to expand to other layers.

This book met all my expectations. I used it for my Emergency management Course at the university of Alberta and the information inside is up to date. It provides practical information in an easy to read - easy to understand format. The appendix and glossary contain further information which was valuable to me.

A must have for anyone starting a career in Emergency Management! Well written and concise.
