Mowing on the mountainside
This is my first experience with a battery operated mower so, I don't really have anything to compare this to. Here are my thoughts about the mower. I have a relatively small yard, roughly 1/3 of an acre. My yard is anything BUT flat. I live on the side of a mountain. So, those of you who live in the mountains/hills or have a sloped yard this thing rips! I started with the smaller capacity battery to see how long it would last. It made it all the way through the front yard, and about half of the back. Pretty impressive considering how NOT flat my yard is. The self-propel feature was a lifesaver especially up and down the hill. The back yard was pretty overgrown and is more sloped than the front. I have no problem saying the larger capacity battery would have no issues taking care of both the front and back in a single charge. It took just over an hour to cut both front and back.Excellent - Easy to setup and use. It has an extra battery. Plenty of power to mow thick overgrown areas. Clipping bag has decent capacity. Perfect size mower for my needs. Good speed control for self-propel feature.Good - Weight of the mower is good. Value seems good for the money. We'll see how the blades hold up over time. Not so good - My only gripe so far is the self propel feature doesn't always engage the first time. - This is just me being nit-picky.Bad - Nothing so farUgly - NothingI also own the 16" String Trimmer which I bought from a brick and mortar big box store, which is pretty awesome as well.

Surprising power - obliterates grass to powder
If I could give this self propelled EGO mower seven stars I would. I was skeptical about replacing my trusty gas mower with battery BUT…this mower is a BEAST and the blade is SO SO sharp and powerful… it chops grass into confetti. I mow my yard every 5 days - and bought this because I need a mower that has self power. The self drive on this mower is adjustable… so it allows you to even walk along side and hold on with one hand as it powers forward through even the thickest grass. I just let go of the drive handle to make my turns and pivots. The obliteration of grass blades means that your collector does not fill as fast - as long as you mow when it is dry. I dump the EGO bag about 1/2 as much as my gas mower.I can mow my 1/2 acre lawn in about 45 minutes now and use about 20% of the battery on full power. I’m telling you this thing is next level. I already have the EGO chain saw and it is a god send also as these 6.0 batteries are interchangeable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!My only complaint is that is does not cut quite short enough… at its lowest it’s about 1.25” and I would like to be closer to .75” like a fairway …but hey my grass still looks amazing just a bit longer like the second cut.

Great For My Needs, Money We'll Spent!
I bought this as a secondary mower for my business. I run a land care company and usually use gas. I found thst this was an affordable option and a bit of a lighter mower option for some of the properties I mow. It's easy to use, cuts well, and has a few different blade options. I upgraded the blade and thst was easy to do. I mowed for the first time two customers lawns with a mowing time of 20 minutes at one location and 45 minutes at the second location. No issues with power loss and did both locations with one battery and 25% battery life left. The self propelled option is nice along with the throttle control. It's easy to fold up and store and move as well. Not only do I like the mower but my customers do too.

User manual needs improvement but it does actually cut grass
It does actualky cut grass. It will go up a hill but the self propel feature does need help once the slope approaches 40 degrees. Today was my first time using it and my small yard used up the fully charged 7.5 Amp battery completely and required the 2nd 5 Amp battery that came with the set that I purchased to complete the yard. Maybe the hill in my backyard consumed the battery fast and a flatter yard could get by with just the one 7.5 amp battery. My lawnmower came without an instruction manual but I found one online. The instruction manual could be better. Bigger pictures with more arrows and more details in general would have been helpful. Initially I could not get it started by following the simple instructions on the lawnmower hence my search for the user manual. I assumed that the issue had to be the battery. I could not see how the battery transferred energy to the lawnmower for the longest time until I finally saw the small black plastic piece in the battery compartment that said "remove." It still took me a few tries to get the battery to fit down properly once I saw the connection. Also, I can't tell from the instructions if the mulcher is pre-installed or just missing from the product box. There is an instruction on both the lawnmower and in the user manual that says "To Start: Fully extend the rails." The rails are extended the same as they came from the product box; I don't see how to move them. This instruction caused me unnecessary worry when I could not get the lawnmower to start for the longest time until I discovered the improper battery installation. Finally, the rear grass shooter attachment does not "click" into place nor is it designed to "click" into place. It seems to be held in place merely by the weight of the hinged grass exit door.I wonder when it will fall off. The mower diagram in the user manual does not actually point out the rear grass exit door yet alone that it is hinged so it took me a minute to figure out where to attach the grass shooter. I am still looking for the intermediate hole to adjust the push handle since it seems to be set for a much taller person so I keep inadvertently popping the front wheels up in the air which of course affects the cutting performance.Since this is my 1st electric lawn mower, I don't actually know if it is average, better or worse in performance than other brands nor if all user manuals for this type of mower are just as bad, better or worse. However, I am happy not to have to keep gas and spark plugs on hand. I am assuming that there will be very little preparation to store it for winter. These are the reasons for now that I am rating it 4 stars which may change (decrease) as I use it more.
