Let me just say that Chemistry is some sort of evil language that the devil made. Ok, moving on. While I did not do well in Organic Chemistry, this lab book was actually quite helpful and I passed lab with a B. It's kinda funny, which makes it bearable to read unlike the majority of textbooks that are drier than the Sahara in a drought. You might say I actually enjoyed reading it.

Useful and easy to read
This is a great book written in easy to understand everyday language. The author's sense of humor throughout makes a tough subject more enjoyable. However, it can be somewhat confusing from time to time. For instance, in column chromatography, there is no mention of what the column bed is... not a big deal if your instructor follows this up with a good lab procedure. However, if your instructor uses this book AS the major portion of the lab procedure it can cause some issues in your chemical separation. Other than small issues like this that your instructor should, in theory, be able to clear up, it's an amazingly useful book.

Awesome resource for learning and reveiwing Organic Chemistry lab procedures and practices.
There are many O-Chem lab "handbooks" but Zubrick's books are amazing (he has several editions). He speaks plainly and simply, straight forward without the unnecessary flourishes of excess jargon. An amazing resource for first year and even high division organic chemistry students.

Excellent for explanations
I normally do not buy the recommended books for my classes because often there is no direction on when we are supposed to read them, but this book for me was a recommendation and it was excellent. The diagrams were very well constructed and easy to read. All the explanations were very thorough and simplified all the technical language so you knew exactly what is being said/described. I highly recommend for your organic chemistry lab!

Concise, but awkward voice
Quite the thin handbook, should not be priced as high as it is (but you know, school texts). Mostly put in lists/steps/bullet-points, along with plenty of visuals, making things easy to understand. I personally do not enjoy the style of writing. It is extremely informal and takes the stance of a professor almost looking down their nose at their students (the reader). Some bits may be humorous, but for the most part the funny bits are a "miss" and instead come off as a little condescending.

Very Good O-Chem book
The book came in pristine shape. The chapter layouts and the organization of topics are very clear and very helpful. If you need a quick how-to for organic chemistry lab, GET THIS BOOK!

Humorous and helpful
I only purchased this manual because it was required for my Synthesis Lab. I only read this manual because it was required to complete some pre-labs. However, reading it was not a bore. The author throws in humor and writes in a conversational way so that it's more entertaining to read than my ochem book.Overall, if you're looking for an ochem lab manual, this will be a good choice. If you're purchasing this because you're required to, heads up -- it's not that bad.

this has to be the stupidest book ever written
I say this because the explanations are poor and the author is a bit of a smart ass and explains things the long way
