Size:200 MHz The Tektronix TBS1000B series digital storage oscilloscopes (DSO) with a range for bandwidth from 30 to 200 MHz and sample rates up to 2GS/s have Automatic measurements, convenience functions such as limit testing, data logging, frequency counter, TrendPlot, context-sensitive help menu, lowest loading for passive probe in this product class with small 3.8mm probe head to get to signals in hard to reach places, industrial grade 7" WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) Active TFT color LCD meaning great waveform viewing and high reliability, uncompromised acquisition rate of up to 2GS/s on all channel, and additional specifications include a rise time of 2.5ns.In addition to basic oscilloscope features, the TBS1000B offers three practical tools to facilitate your work of monitoring and signal capturing. If you are doing automatic tests, limit testing is a feature of TBS1000B in detecting and recording signals falling out of pre-defined templates. If you are in research and production requiring duty-free test, data logging will enable automatic saving of triggered waveforms. Duration can be set from 30 minutes to even infinite. If you are capturing intermittent faults, or monitoring power supply stability over time, then TrendPlot feature will help you plot the trends of any measurements over time.

Scope has advanced features not expected in a scope of this price
I have used Tektronix scopes since 1973, and owned 4 of them personally, 3 more were work scopes. This model is labeled as an introductory scope, but is far better than that. It has the features of earlier models that cost over a thousand dollars. It easily triggers on difficult signals, produces very accurate measurements of wave forms, has the ability to magnify a small portion of the display, and delay triggering, among other outstanding features.Mine came with a certificate of calibration. The ROM which controls how the scope works can be easily updated and Tektronix updates them incrementally.I highly recommend it for most applications, including ones that you would normally expect to require a larger and much costlier scope.

Short on Features and Too Many Glitches
I bought this as an upgrade from my starter digital scope, a Rigol DS1052E. Didn't realize how much I would be using a digital scope so after hitting a few limitations with the Rigol I decided to upgrade. Tektronix was what I always used in school and then later at work. Decided to stick with that brand now that they have consumer grade equipment available. Also I have a couple of old Tektronix analog scopes that are decades old and still working great so I trust the brand. So far I've not been too impressed with the Tek 1202B. It lacks features my Rigol has and even my old analogs have that I really like such as being able to trigger off two separate channels that are not in phase. I also don't like that the cursor function doesn't allow me to move both cursor lines together once I have a cycle width set. Instead I can only move one then the other, you can't select both to move them together. Again, both the economical Rigol and my old Tek 2246 analog can do this.I have also experienced digital signal pulses with that appear to have a cycle is missing though the microprocessor output should be continuous. Since the display doesn't make sense I'll check with my Rigol or analog tek the pulses are all there so the 1202B is exhibiting some type of glitch. If I play with the 1202b triggering a bit, trigger with pulse width instead of edge, or vise versa, I can usually get agreement but it's not creating much trust in the readings I get. So far the low cost Rigol 1052 has always shown pulses correctly when the Tek 1202B does not. The Tek is really an unexpected disappointment. I'll continue to use it but I often run another scope at the same time to verify it's readings.

Functional but some major issues with triggers, display rate, min/max
I am not as impressed as I expected to by after splurging and buying the fancy Tek scope.1) Display refreshes at about 5 frames per second. Wow. Poor.2) Will not display min-max voltage ranges if display window >50msec. Wow. Also poor.3) Triggers are unreliable. E.g. set display range to 50msec and try to catch a falling edge that develops over seconds, and it's missed most of the time.

Great scope...Very intuitive to Use
After years of using a Heathkit analog 2-channel scope, I bought a Chinese 2-channel digital scope with lots of menu-electable functions, but few knobs. The Chinese unit drove me crazy as it was totally non-intuitive and slowed my productivity to a crawl trying to make the measurements I was trying to accomplish. I finally broke down and bought this Tektronix 1052B 50 MHz, 2 Channel Digital scope...and what a breath of fresh air. Although it has all the fancy functions, the use of real knobs for range changes and curve centering makes it very intuitive to use. It's just like my old analog scope, but with the greatly added functionality of digital storage and playback. Just love it!

Excellent hobby scope.
Replaced an old CRT scope that has been on my bench for decades. This one is small, but with a larger display than my original, and light. It has far more functions that I will ever use or even know how to use. Wish I had had this back in my professional days when I had to lug a heavy and bulky Tektronix 453 across a hot parking lot in the summers.

Excellent scope for my electronic projects. High quality, Advanced features. Built-in help screens.
I chose this Tektronix TBS1052B Oscilloscope over several competing products because of their long warranty and their attention to long term component quality and durability. Additionally, this Tektronix has many great features and it has performed extremely well so far; and it delivers as advertised. I also like the design colors and features like the top handle and its USB interfaces for memory stick and PC link. The Tektronix company also has a great support/download system on their web site. The four pictures show my ultrasound distance module project and the oscilloscope provides me with fantastic pulse signal details. I am very happy with my purchase and I was impressed by the extremely fast shipping by Amazon on this scope as well as my other electronic shipment components.

Couldn't be happier with my 1052B
I have never owned or even used an oscilloscope before, but I could not be happier with this unit. I have used it to look at the signal quality of RS485 transmissions, and it proved invaluable. Having two probes allowed me to look at both halves of the signal, which was great. All of the controls are fairly easy to understand and allowed me to do everything I could imagine that I would want to do.The build quality of this unit is outstanding, yet the unit is not heavy at all.I would say my only gripe is that Tektronix does not provide enough beginner videos to teach guys like me how to use the thing. They have a video that explains many of the basic features, but really doesn't provide enough information. And most of their videos are for more experienced users who are buying the higher-end devices.

Great value from a well known brand
Great value! Includes 2 probes. I bought separate probes because it wasn’t clear it included them, but it’s got everything you need in the box (power cable and probes). I remember getting something similar at to this like 15 years ago for 10X the price!
