These caps are great if you want to highlight your hair at home! They protect longer hair at the back.One trick for using them is to be careful that they do not shift once you’ve started the highlighting process. I wrap the strings around each other twice before I make a bow. That keeps it from shifting.Remember if you keep highlighting, over time you will have highlighted more of your hair than you might wish. So start conservatively – unless of course you want a more dramatic look.And be sure to pull all the strands completely – otherwise there are loops of hair, rather than complete strands – not a good look.Before coloring, I always go over the cap well with a short, stiff – bristle brush to make sure that I don’t have any loops.

The bad reviews seem to be in confusion of what type of cap this is.It's a blue bonnet-type of frosting cap. It has double layers which I prefer as it helps keep bleach from bleeding through. It has pre-marked holes. The ties are strong, there's a visor to protect face and a cellophane on the back to protect neck.I typically pay $3.50 EACH at the beauty supply store. There's 12 in each box for less than $11.00! You also get a plastic needle/hook but I prefer metal. Great deal and always have great results with this cap.*TIPS:Use a metal needle/hook, it pierces the cap much cleaner and easier than a plastic hook.If you keep bleach thick at a 1.1 ratio - throughly cover strands & don't mash it down - it will help prevent bleeding through the holes and getting splotches & under-processed roots. However you can always do a root touch-up after with darker color if you get bleed through.Cover hair with foil/plastic to speed processing. Always process past orange! After rinsing and shampooing out bleach, pat dry, tone or use permanent color with 10% developer. Check color every 5 minutes as it will process faster. Rinse, remove cap and wash & deep condition.

Like them except when breaking hole to pull hair through pkastic can rip. The needle is a liitle hard to work with

The box and contents completely soaked because it rained. Please reconsider what you send your product in. The product itself is fine. That is, after it was dried out.

Fits great

Should’ve listened to the reviews... these are not what is shown in the picture!! I wanted the unlined hiliting caps as shown but these are the lines with the seams on them and do not fit as close.

Unfortunately wrong photo shown so this were not the disposable caps I was looking for.
