GOD'S WORD Translation Deluxe Wide-Margin Comfortable Print Holy Bible Imitation Leather – Large Print, December 1, 2019

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this version. it is NOT a word for word translation but is an easy read to grasp the overall thought and concepts of the WORD. not my first choice for in-depth Bible study but a great read at night to meditate on basic truth

I recently got back into scripture and bought three translations. The NKJV, The NASB, and this GW translation.After skimming through all of them I keep coming back to this translation. It's a very comfortable read while at the same time detailed. Take 1 Corinthians 10:6 for example says "...The people sat down to a feast which turned into an orgy..." where as in the NKJV it says "“The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” From my understanding the difference here is that King James instructed his scribes to soften any words that had to do with fornications or homosexuality. The NKJV and KJV are not bad translations and have saved many people but I appreciate the fact GW translation does not skimp on the harsher truths from the original texts. This attention to detail combined with it's easy readability make it so far one of my favorite translations.Now about the binding of this book. Overall the quality of this bible is very high. No it's not genuine leather but at the same time feels more durable than leather to me. This particular edition uses wide margins which I like because it makes the text more centered to the spine of the book than other editions. Essentially what you end up having is seeing each page as a giant column. Reading with one hand is nice.I'm guessing because of it's paragraph layout that is the reason this bible is thicker than others. However the paper quality is very high. I have a premier collection NASB that cost over 100 dollars and there is no difference in page quality. If any I think the page quality in this one is nicer!I plan on reading the entire bible through this edition and then comparing to NKJV or NASB later on.I believe if you buy this bible you will be very happy with the translation as well as the book itself.

Large words. Binding is good. Very well made price is at a good range

I want to read the Bible and understand it, but the KJV is too archaic, so I took a good look at every version out there and found God’s Word.I now have three Bibles:1) KJV just because I am the most familiar with it.2) The Amplified Bible for inspiration3) God’s Word because it combines translation with original intent and is easy to read.As I said, it is now my main Bible.

Looking at my old Bible, this one is amazing to understand. You read a lot longer without getting tired.Would recommend to new and old Bible readers.

I loved the packaging of the Bible the size in print is excellent and I absolutely love the quality and bright white color and texture of the pages. I use this bible for reading only and I absolutely love the translation. Absolutely great option if you’re a lover of the nlt translation.

Pros - the typeface and layout and perfect - large 11 pt font with at least 1/2 line of let makes reading very comfortable. Wide margins allow for plenty of notes.So-so: the translation is a not a big favorite or used widely. It is very loose (dynamic equivalent to the right of NLT)Cons: binding and leather imitation is poor, ribbon is poor. No maps. No choice in colors for cover.Bottom line: I will probably give this one away.

I am always looking for a good Bible in a different translation. I just really enjoy this particular verse of the Bible. I highly recommend it. I do a lot of deep Bible Study as I am a Pastor. Get it and give it a try.
