100 Hits: Punk & New Wave / Various

I have purchased three of these sets and will probably buy a few more. But, here are a few things that most people don't seem to understand.......First and foremost, these CDs are imports. So, some of the songs (or artists), make be unknown to the US market. But, since it is based on a genre, most of the songs are pretty good. If you like 80s music, you'll probably like both the known and unknown songs.Also, depending on the cd set you buy, you are only paying probably no more than a quarter a song. A good deal no matter how you slice it.Finally, there is no finally. I just ran out of things to say.

This is a great eclectic mix of Punk and New Wave music from the early years of the mid 70's through the 80's.All the recordings are original by the original artists, which is a must for me.This is also a very good series and I have ordered 4 other of these 100 Hit sets. (All good.)

Very complete set of new wave and punk. All that grinding electric vigor from the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, Black Flag and so many others from the late 70s and early 80s were all here.A few were too dragged out with little to play but were still interesting.I recommend this package.

Fantastic collection! I didn't know most of the songs purchasing this, but decided to take a chance. A month later at least a couple dozen of these addictive tunes have become new favorites. Most of the songs are British, and if you're into that transitional late 70s/early 80's style, then you will love this one!

Punk and New Wave for life.

Considering how many tracks there are on this compilation, I expected to do lots of skipping ahead, but no. Nearly all 100 are winners.

While I really love this compilation and was quite thrilled to receive it last Xmas from my lovely partner, I was very surprised and disappointed that some of my fave artists are not represented. .. most perplexing is the absence of The Damned- who were actually associated with Demon Music/EMI (the label that put out this release) at one point. And how can you include Sex Pistols and Buzzcocks but exclude Gen X and The Jam?? Anyway still enjoying compilation, just my 2 cents worth

Great Hits of the best of punk and wave songs. Like this very well. A must for Punk and Wave heads.

An excellent collection full of favourites (Sex Pistols, Blondie, Gang of Four, PiL, Killing Joke, Buzzcocks) as well as some unexpected gems which have become staples in my playlists (Skids, Rich Kids, The Motors, and more). Highly recommended!

Good selection of various types of punk and new wave and at such a good price - few curious omissions - but hey I'm not complaining , the rest of the tracks are good to very good.Five CDs in a reasonably robust jewel case with an embossed card cover - so well packaged for a 'general' compilation and the reproduction of the CD's is good with decent thickness disc's - not the cheapo thin disc's used in some compilations.The icing on the cake was discovery on side three of a track by Killing Joke that I have been searching for 22 years to find - so all the rest of it is justified by finding this one track - happy days.Would I recommend this product - absolutely - yes - good value - good service - KMS

Recopilatorio ecléctico donde se unen gemas del punk con los inicios de la new wave. Similar a otros recopilatorios acerca de esta época (finales 70 - inicios 80) aunque con mejores rarezas. Y a buen precio

hut ab - endlich mal eine zustammenstellung essentieller, toller musik der 70'er und 80'er, die gelungen ist:adam and the ants, ruts, P.I.L., scars, 999, XTC, die göttlichen gang of four, stiff little fingers, members, die frühen simple minds, buzzcocks usw. usf........bis auf wenige ausnahmen wirklich tollste sachen, die auch noch nach jahrzehnten (!!!) zeigen, wo alles herkommt, was heute gut ist.......für sommer, sonne urlaub und fun immer noch unschlagbar - einfach beste gute-laune-musik!!!!!ein must have für alle, die wirklich ahnung von musik haben und mal wieder in alten erinnerungen schwelgen wollen!!!!!!!!THIS IS THE SOUND OF THE SUBURBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this 5 disc set is a bargain.it has got a good mix of punk and new wave classics on it's discs.good tunes too circuit train to at a good pace.well recommended for late 70's and early80's musicheads like myself.keep the faith bro's.
